Reba, Angel and WDYS! I also really liked your HUG, WDYS!
The surgeon called us and let us know Kaylee did well - the repair was a straight forward repair....50% tear of bad ligament; remaining portion was weak and soft, so she removed it. No meniscus damage, which is a common part of this problem. The bone surface looks fairly good, some changes but nothing really alarming. She'll stay overnight and in the morning we'll get a call between 6 and 8am, hopefully, as to the update on how she did overnight, if she ate any of the food we brought, etc. She has to pee and eat a little, and be secure <assisted> on her feet before we can bring her home. We picked up a sling at the vet. office where the vet rehab specialist first saw her and took the x-rays that led us to seek a surgeon.
When we dropped her off, we left her with the soft stuffy toy that she came to us with as a baby puppy, and one of my un-washed t-shirts, and a blanket from her toy basket.
So...happy news!!::

yeah... I'm so happy she is home with us, our little canine family for Thanksgiving. If we take home any turkey leftovers from what my parents made for themselves today, I'll be happy to share a bit with her <of course, with her big sis, too>.
we do have two lovely raw bones from local beef cattle that I purposely picked up for them, so they can have a Thanksgiving bone either tonight or tomorrow!
thanks, WDYS! my girls really enjoy the bones, I feed only raw food, not kibble or canned.
They usually have the raw bones in their crates or they could have them outside. Many raw feeders will feed the raw bones on a towel or tarp in the house, and if the dog moves the bone, the bone goes away -that is - gets picked up by human and withheld for a few minutes, but not in an angry, retaliatory way, just very "ho-hum" - <negative punishment> so the dog learns to keep her treasure, she must keep it on the surface given <towel or whatever>.
