EWWWWWW! I'm in a I wanna kill my cats mood right now. They keep getting in out house plants and thinking they are they're freaking litter boxes! Anybody want 2 cats, or have any good ideas?:pissed:

ohhhh! good Idea... I need to try that....I also wanna try a miny cat tazer somedays. :D

Is it possible that your cats are trying to use potting soil as going "potty" ? some cats will do that if their liter box is just soo disgusting , try to keep the liter box clean daily and IF you don't want your cats doing the things you would rather they didn't or get into then say "NO!!" firmly and then tap them on the nose, They should soon get the message...also you can place a sticky tape on the area where the soil is at in your plant this will make your cat hate how this feels on his/her paws and soon stop going there....Also you can always talk to your vet about this spray to keep cats out of plants... here another interesting tip I found out from several people that lemon scented polish keeps cats off of furniture cause they don't like the smell, I haven't tried that one yet but when I do, I'll let you know if it's works but the bottom line is Cats is cats and It's what cats do, there no reason to say you want to kill it or get ruid of it just cause your cats are messing with your household plants....What happens when you have kids? are you going to say the same thing?...Think about that :(

Be gentle here since I'm a cat lover!

LOL. I love my cats too.....It's just one of those days you get fed up...those are just my vague sarcastic threats to get my point across. I have learned though that cats pretty much do whatever they want!

We keep our litter box very clean....thats why I wondered why they are starting this new habbit. And when the other cat saw the one doing it, he thinks its what he's supposed to do now to.

Ohh I'm sorry, LOL forgive me, I thought you were serious, Yeah I know what you mean about cats pretty much do whatever they want , I have 6 cats myself and I do know where you're coming from on this... :)

Here is the answer for you. Your cat will not like to smell or touch the flowerpot with the spray liquid. The sprayer is called "Grannick's bitter apple" (Taste deterrent and training aid for dogs, - but this is also for cats, too.) I had a cat that hate to smell it on my chair, and it worked pretty good.

Here is example that you could find one at a store: http://www.bitterapple.com .

 Good Vent. :thumb:

I know where you come from... I myself have 4 cats... They are like children...

Kim, my 2 years old cat do like the same as your cat - no matter either liter box is clean or not... I clean liter box EVERYDAY... It took me few months to train her to use liter box instead of green plant... I pressed Kim's nose gentle on her business few seconds then carried Kim back to liter box several times until Kim know that liter box is one we allow her to use, not plant... She went to liter box for nearly 2 years now.... The problem is my 4 cats still chew green plants leaves... It's hard to train them to not eat plants... All what I do is... we allow our cats to every rooms whatever they like except where the green plants stand... We allow them in when we are around.. We watch them go near plants... I said NEIN NEIN NEIN... (German word "No")... they know and respect us... but they still do it behind my back... I do not trust them alone with green plants...

Your link is not working...

I would not accept sprays on any plants... because of toxic... I rather to train my cats like what I did with my children.. It works...

I believe that the Grannick's Bitter Apple is natural - no toxic. I am sure that they will definitely not want to taste the bitter. (www .bitterapple. com)

I know why your cats chew your plants because they need to "brush" their teeth, or some kind of diet. That's their nature. All cats and dogs are doing the same thing.

I have a great idea - put some grasses on a new flowerpot in the house. Your cats will chew the grasses instead of your plants. I think that you will be surprised about this one. My mother told me about it, and it was true because we had a cat a few years ago.

Now I gotta try that for my future new furniture since I dont want my dog or cat to get on it. My dog will ruin my couch which already did on my current couch and my cat will pee in it. GRRRRRRRRR!!! They knows that also they will pee in my clean laundry. :eek3: So I had to put the clothes away quickly before they do something with it. Dang cats!!!

As for a plants I normally put it on top of fridge. :D

It is probably not a good idea to spray on the top of the furniture because of "temporary stain" on your pant or someone's pant. You can spray on the side of the furniture walls.

You can spray on a bedsheet on the chair for your cat situation. Actually, I always put the bedsheets on my seats for my dogs (without the spray).

Off subject, I think that your cat has a bladder problem that caused peeing. Your cat is not able to hold it. My sister's favorite cat had a bladder problem last week, and she died in a few days after taking her cat home from a vet.

Hmm, two different problems here. First, Bitter apple does work if you spray it on your houseplants. I grow a big pot of Kitty Grass out on my deck that my Kula feasts on daily. She does not bother my houseplants now that I have the Kitty Grass. Kitty Grass needs plenty of water and fertilizer.

Secondly. You know that sticky stuff sold by the yard to keep your rugs in place? It is sticky on both sides. I do not know the name of it, sorry! "Rug Grip" ???? But, anyway if you buy a few yards of this and keep it on your furniture for a few weeks, your cats will no longer tread there! Cats hate sticky! When you are finished with it and the cats no longer use the furniture, then you can use it to keep your throw rugs in place.

I have a white leather loveseat that I forbid my cats to touch, I had a terrible time until I discovered this rug-grip stuff!

You are very welcome!

Why not put barbed wire over you plants? When cat gets in their they YEEOWW!!!!

Sorry man! I have few words for them...

Dogs think they are humans

cats thinks they are God!
