I usually leave my car unlocked with the engine running when I go in a bank AND my car was only 10 feet away.

Are you saying it's okay for theif to steal cars since it's not their fault? That is like you drop the key to the house and I find it and go to your house.

If i dropped a key, how do they know where I live or who is an owner of key? thats diffrent story.

No, What I said was thief would like to teach you a big lesson for not leaving a car with engine running on. Remember, (NFL)Giants's coach, he left a car with engine running on at Gas station for a min, a thief stole a car and then a coach made a call at his car thats where thief was driving. a thief told him exactly what I am telling you "teaching you a big lesson for not leaving a car with engine running on" Few days later, Police arrested thief but released and dropped on some charges in few weeks. Cause D.A. said a thief is not a fault for stealing a car who left a car with engine running on. At first, I was like thats kind of joke but its true.

By the way, why in the world you left a two credit cards in your car? Have you heard a famous line? Do not leave at home, car, workplace, and ect without a credit card.

I have a reason why I left my credit cards in my car. Go buy a car and let someone steal it and you'll know how exactly I feel.

Oh wait, I forget you can't afford buying a car.

FUck yea, I love hockey and they are worth 700!

I would be getting mad if a thief stole my car what I did'nt do anything stupid. but it wouldnt be happening if i didnt leave a car with engine running on, unlock doors, a key at ignoriation or leave windows opened.

The only time I leave the engine running is when I'm warming up my car for a few minutes in the winter time while I'm cleaning snow from the car.

Good thing they found your car and, hopefully, there's no serious damage to it. Apparently, these dudes went for a joyride or maybe they used it as a getaway car. Anyhow, consider yourself lucky.

I've seen that happen several times before. Once, I was working at my local video rental store. This guy drove up and got out to drop off his movies. There was another guy standing next to the drop slot and he started walking when the guy was walking up to the drop slot. The other guy darted and jumped into the car and drove off. The driver got pissed off and came in asking for the phone. I saw the whole thing... damn!

As for me, I had my car stolen too. I went to see the premiere of Independence Day. While I was watching the movie, someone cut a hole in the roof of my convertible and got in. They broke the ignition then drove off. They ran out of gas and pulled over to the side of the highway. Someone witnessed those guys running off and noticed my car with doors open. They called the police and the police came. They had the car towed and called my dad. My dad paged me. All of this happened while I was watching the movie. Grr.... and to make things worse... the police didn't bother to cover the whole and it rained overnight. So, my car was flooded with water and it reeked with mildew. Jeez! Damn you police! :fu2:

Vampy, did you have insurance on that car? What happened to that car when you found out everything back then?

In other matter, back in 1994, my father's 93' Ford XF Sedan was stolen overnight, we, all my family was prepared to go out, me heading to school, my father was on the drive way and saw that his car was not parked on the drive way so he had to report it to the police and my mother had to drive him to work until my mum dropped me at school first, but we found the car first before the police did. The robbers left my dad's car at the district ovals, which was only 5 minutes away from my place! The car broke down, the pipe was damaged, lucky his golf stuff was in the boot. *whew* so now, my father installed the alarm system and sold it.

Kevbo, if you are still around, what was the condition of the car when you went to NJ to pick your car up, did you still have the hockey stuff? Still have the car today? I wonder...
