I'm not sure what's there for you to understand. it was pretty simple. Legalizing it means they MAY or MAY not be equipped... a pretty good deterrent.
Show me proof of that. If you are claiming that it is a deterrent, then there are studies available to prove your claims. But I suspect that once again, you are talking off the top of your head with nothing to support your claims.
shit happens. point is - do you want to be defenseless if shit happens to you? remember - you only get one chance!
And exactly what is the risk of any teacher having to use that one chance? Again, support your claims. You refuse to answer the questions.
exactly! a teacher with gun is the element of surprise! and it puts them at advantage to protect oneself and his/her students.
If everyone knows they are armed, it is hardly a surprise! There's that logic again!
Not my problem. Bring it up to Department of Education. Like I said - gun is a serious issue and don't believe one bit that it's that easy to bring a gun to school. There will be regulations and requirements to bring one. Airline Pilots underwent intensive training to carry one. Same for teachers. I doubt you'll have a bunch of teachers bringing one because it's too much to deal with - regulations, fees, trainings, cost of ammo/guns, etc.
You are the one that brought up the issue of "qualified" teachers. What is your definition?
Don't worry about it.
