Reba, I am not " exploring ". I have known for a number of years that catholic priests and voodoo priests work together. I was born in the South and I do remember seeing catholic priests and voodoo priests work together very clearly and they even had dinner together at a resturant!!! Not a one time thing, every night from what I remember. I was born in Texas. There is a right and a wrong way to research voodoo. There are many good Christian books and websites that are written denouncing voodoo and Roman Catholicism.

Unfortunately yes.. 'voices' tell people to do things which is beyond our comprehensions. I work in a Deaf Program in State Psychiatric Hospital.
Obviously the woman is severely ill.. She may not remember that she did it when she gets stablized from anti-psychotic meds. :(

Heath.. Satan and Devil had nothing to do with it!! It's just the chemical inbalance in her brain that made her do it. Jeezus, Heath! :roll: Looking at all of your postings here, you need to be medicated, too!
 
You don't know the spiritual world. There are two ... good and evil and it is not chemical imbalance. The problem is spiritual and I have never believed anything the doctor thinks up to get people off legally at their courtroom. They can't say " The devil made me do it " You have to remember satan is only The Evil Tempter. He tempts people. People decide wheter to do it or not. People are responsible for their actions wheter they are stable or un-stable.

Heath is right! And my 5 brothers and sisters told me that mentally ill comes from evil. I asked my ministers and they said YES it comes from evil - it has to do nothing with chemical imbalances. It's evil.

One deaf man who killed his sister and brother-in-law and his parents were so shocked and realized that it was evil who made him do it (killing his sister and brother-in-law). He was using the drugs, etc. Who made him to use the drugs? It was the evil.

Many people told me that it was evil - not chemical imbalance. Who many people? (hearing people, ministers, my siblings, my relatives, my neighbors, etc)

So, it's very scary!!!!!!!! It's SO important to be close to God - stay away from evils.

Correct... those people suffer mental health who claim like this... It's not first I heard about a mother who kill a baby from "spirits"... Many serial killers said the same things like this... *sigh*

Not just that but many beliefs like this were being brainwashed..... That's why I keep neutral to any beliefs... instead of worship to bibles but God and Jesus, period.

While it's always unfortunate to see a child being killed by it's own parents. As a mother, I would never thought or imagine killing my children. It's just too crazy to do that and barbaric.

In Young's case, It is clearly explainable why she thought she had to protect her child from the so-called spirit since the article mentioned that she's suffering from bipolar and the medicine that the police found in the apartment. I wonder, if she had got herself some help by admitting into the mental facilities, only this would have not happened at all? Who knows? :dunno:

People look at it from all sides and dismiss the spiritual side of it. It's time to take a second look and that sure does not excuse the person to say " the devil made me do it ".

I'm sorry to say that. I shuddered with disbelief when I read here. I cannot believe that some people believe that Satan/Devil have something to do with mental illness. IMO:

Mental illness is a result of chemical imbalance or brain damage. That is real.

Demonic influence or possession is also real. It can occur in people who are mentally healthy or mentally ill. People on drugs (legal or illegal) can be more susceptible because their resistance is lowered.

Not all people with mental illness are demon possessed. Some just need the right meds and counselling.

However, all the meds in the world won't help someone with real spiritual problems.

That is why it is so important to properly diagnose the problem--is it mental illness, demon possession, or a combination of both? That requires deep discernment.
