Mom told me she want me to hear out of both ears?

I was a hearing person 1/2 of my life. Im used to hearing i loved to hear things and communicate with hearing people by talking and listening carrying conversations. Thats why i need my hearing back. Now if i was born deaf i would choose deaf but the fact is i have experance in hearing i know what the sounds are therefor i want it back. I just hope a CI would do better than my hearing aid did.

I thought you were Hoh!?!?! Being hoh doesn't mean that you're Hearing (culturally) I understand....I love being able to hear...and my Phonaks are amazing....but at the same time I love the fact that I can switch off my aids and that I am very visual. I know...if I woke up tomorrow and my residual hearing was gone, I'd go insane. However, if I woke up tomorrow as a hearing person I'd also go insane. We hoh folks are not hearing....but yet we're not deaf either. We get the best of both worlds, and we need experts to say so!
