SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The California mother who says she regularly injected her 8-year-old daughter with Botox has lost custody, according to ABC News.
Kerry Campbell was interviewed last week by Good Morning America, telling correspondent Lara Spencer that she gave daughter Brittany Botox treatments to prevent wrinkles. Campbell said her daughter was involved in beauty pageants.
Monday, Spencer said a reliable source told her the child was in "a safe and stable home" away from the mom.
ABC7 has received an email from a woman claiming to be living with Kerry Campbell and her daughter, disputing the ABC report. She says the girl is still in her mother's custody, writing, "All I can say is nothing you are hearn (sic) is true."
According to Good Morning America's Lara Spencer, Child Protective Services stepped in this weekend to remove Brittany. Spencer said "it's the obligation of the state" to protect the child.
The San Francisco Human Services Agency launched an investigation last week, but Monday department head Trent Rhorer told ABC7, "SFHSA completed its investigation and is no longer involved in the case."
