Owner and Moderators:

I am NOW requesting that you come down from Mount Olympus with us, the great unwashed, and do your duty among us.

In the last few weeks, many of us ADers have had to suffer through insults, bigotery, put-downs, opinions that were calculated to hurt, and in general, suffered through it all.

I am now requesting that you establish some new rules, or enforce some old rules.

From what I understood in the past, and had seen before; this was a friendly forum where we felt free to post our opinions, what we belived in, truth v.s. fiction, postwhoring, and in general, gleaned information from those who gave us freely.

Now ... we see the same thing happening over and over. As I understand, NO warnings have been given out or punishment meted out to repeat offenders.

One of our most informed, thought-provoking, and cherished members is leaving due to these attacks. Others have said they will follow suit, and I know AD will be the poorer if these members leave.

Please, please, Alex and MODS, please do something, before it's too late.

yea yea yea I AGREE WITH U MISSY!!!!! :) PLS DO IT DO IT BEFORE TOO LATE!!!! i hate to see some AD quit cuz of this insult or whatever.... so i wanna this AD keep up and be friends around here... DO IT!

Read my thread "Let Fool Be Fool". I'm pm'ing offenders to resolve problem with them. I'll further investigate tonight after work.

Why don't everyone PM me your problems now while I'm at work. That way I will investigate and resolve when I get home from work?
 
Wow, you are sure one brave gal there DD ;) and I agree with you too...I was pretty much scare to say something like what you did up there, it show how much you care for everyone!!...I love to see more people like you here in AD! :hug:

I personally would like to see a big changing in this too, to keep the good ones from leaving AD, I wouldn't want to see anyone leaving AD and it is very hard to ignore a member when it comes to them insulting, namecalling etc toward other members here in AD....I DO understand and feel for each one of you.... :grouphug:

I think it time to make a difference and continue to have a friendly, peaceful and fun forum here in AD!! ;)

way to go dd.But we have to realize the mods and owner are doing this for free. So lets take an easy on them.Dont you think anyone ? :cool:

That is why they are Moderators, It is their postion to control the level of AllDeaf and make it go smooth instead of out of control.:)
 
Mount Olympus??? Heh heh...ya think so, but I can see the finer points you're making in this thread that you have created DreamDeaf and I am willingly to work alongside with the other moderators and Alex to 'dig in' and purge out unnecessary, frivolous, hurtful and insulting posts in here....

Also, I haven't rec'd any private messages from anyone regarding any complaints...for those who have complaints or would like to make certain suggestions or changes in here, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of the other mods or Alex, that's what we are here for ;) ...and I do agree that we all would like to see Alldeaf run nicely and smoothly without having any misunderstandings, personal insults or attacks and for any other unnecessary drama that may bring about unhappiness, depressions, hurtful feelings, etc.,....

Thank you DreamDeaf for bringing this to our attention :thumb: ...I personally wouldn't like to see valuable and cool members leave Alldeaf because of problems here!!

Ok, I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. If anyone has a problem with another member, it is best to get in touch with me or any of the moderators, explain to us your situation and provide proof that might be helpful, and let us handle it from there. Lately, I've noticed that problems are reported when it's too late and members want to leave. I, for one, don't always have the time to read each and every post made by members, so it is hard to pinpoint a problem before it gets worse. That's where we, the moderators and I, need you.

No forum is perfect, but it is still my intention, as well as many of you, to keep AllDeaf as a friendly and respectful deaf community. We all have to work together, please don't always expect the moderators to do their "duties" because, afterall, they volunteered to help AllDeaf and most of us have full-time jobs. Trust me, these folks are the best moderators AllDeaf has ever had so far, and they will help you in any way they can.

As the admin, I do feel that someone else's problem at AD is my problem as well, and I act right on it whenever it is reported. I know I haven't made public announcements regarding AD and the problems between members we're having lately, but I am doing something about them by contacting members via PMs. Sometimes some of you wonder why a particular member wasn't banned yet. Well, banning members was always the last thing I wanted to do, and I always try to be fair and remain neutral when hearing both sides. I tell both parties to let me know if the other party is still causing problems, and when that happens, I go and see if it is true and warn/ban the member if necessary. The only ones that get banned without much effort are spammers, stupid n00bs looking for problems, and haters.

I've seen good and bad members go. I'm fine with the bad ones leaving, but I do admit it saddens me when the good ones go. We can't always please everyone, I know, but I do want the good members to give AD another chance before they think about leaving. We are here to listen to your concerns, we are here to help you, we are here for you. You know how to reach us.
