Mock bluetooth (HA)

The other day I saw an add for a HA that is designed to look like a bluetooth headset that people use with cell phones. I thought this was completely stupid! What do you think? Are you ashamed to wear HA?
 
Ugh. I see these things in commercials, they are for mild loss. I think they're aimed at late-deafened people, with slight loss (from age or whatever). People at that loss are not usually considering getting hearing aid, because either they are embarassed at age-hearing loss, or they don't want to spend money. The kind I'm thinking of you can get at the drug store.
Even if they made a digital aid that looked like a bluetooth, I still wouldn't.
 
my husband have one of bluetooth that look like hearing aids. I just go around telling him how do you like your hearing aids so far? LOL

He just ignore me :p
 
ugh.. i think the bluetooths are ugly, let alone consealing a HA as bluetooth. Those bluetooth things are designed for secretaries who constantly get calls and need their hands to type... how important do you think you are that you need to walk around a shopping mall or play with your kids with that stupid thing on? They are THE MOST rediculous things i have ever seen!!!

Sorry, I'm confused. Does he have a hearing aid that looks like a bluetooth, or..?

My dad got a bluetooth for his phone, then had to go to the store to get it adjusted, because the bluetooth came oriented for his bad ear.

And is it the new type of digital hearing aid (if it's a hearing aid), or is it the kind you can buy at the drug store?

These devices are not regulated and may do more harm than good. There is a niche of the market comprised of people who refuse to get HAs and that's why cheap substitutes are available. :dunno2:

He might have one of those bluetooths that hook behind the ear like a hearing aid and looks like one. I used to have a pink bluetooth with a blue flashing light and a clear hook behind my ear. The students at the residential school were confused because they never saw a hearing aide like mine (plus they knew I am hearing). My bluetooth got confused with a hearing aide several times (until I lost it :( ).

Ohh. That. I was actually thinking of getting one of those. Why? Because sometimes I am in situations where I have to hear what people are saying the first time and I can't ask "can you repeat that"?

However, I'm hearing. I didn't realize that this thing is supposed to be a legitimate hearing aid. I thought it was just supposed to amplify sound.

he's hearing and have a bluetooth that look like behind-the-ear hearing aid. He does not wear hearing aids.

I can see why that would be more confusing. Still doesn't change my optioning that they look dumb (sorry to anyone who enjoys theirs!). As for the bluetooth HA, no, its not a good quality HA. I believe it just amplifies sounds, but they advertise it as a hearing aid.

It just frustrates me a lot. I dont know why someone would hide it. I personally HATE wearing my DHA I dont like the feeling, but if I had to wear them I would proudly. I think that the bluetooth HA can go to a very hot place and melt...
 
They are called bluetooth headsets, not just bluetooth.

Bluetooth is a wi-fi technology.
 
When I see someone walking around with a blue tooth headset, I think what a self absorbed person. Please take the head set off and communicate with the world. :lol:

I don't think my husband's bluetooth headset look dumb. What's so dumb about comfort? Why do people need to make something look cool, sylist, etc. because comfort is out.

My husband use it for work and home.
