mistakenly Parked in a Handicapped Spot

No don't beat yourself up over it, the area wasn't lit and marked properly, and it was an innocent mistake on your part. The writer of the note may be aware of its location, but they didn't consider the fact that you have never used the parking area before, so you wouldn't have known. You're an awesome mom for taking part in your son's activities, that's where it counts, so no worries about that little spat FF OK?

Thank you. I moved on, after i reported to school. This am I was not prepared to start my day. You know?

it helps me to see why some people who parked there not do it on purposely like i did.

Well, .....in another thread, FF DID say she wanted drama occasionally. :giggle:

Frisky, I have been in situations where I wasn't sure if a spot was for HC or not on dark and rainy days so I have gotten out to look at the ground for the symbol and yes, there were times the symbol was there but very faded.

I agree with Femme Fatale..Don't beat yourself up about it.

You should had said to your co worker "I will have to remember to not let you borrow my car b/c I don't want to get a parking ticket for using in a handicap spot ." She sound like a real winner.

That is totally insane having a handicap spot where there is poor lighten and in the back of the school . There has to plenty of light so the person can see what they're doing. This never happen me b/c all the handicap spaces are clearly marked with a tall sign and sign on the ground .

Nah, my coworker's hubby has a seriously RA and other physical issue. He has a HC tag. She is not please the way someone wrote it to either someone who did it on purpose or not on purpse. She would write in a nice way of letting others know instead of insulting others.

I once saw a woman park her motorcycle in a handicap space and there was sign on a post saying it was for 'handicap parking only' . The spot was for vans that needed extra room for the W/C lift and she had her motorcycle parked right on the spot the lift opened to. I told her she was parked in a handicap space and she acted as if she did not know. The woman did move her motorcycle after I called her on it. She had to had seen the sign on the post and ground being on a motorcycle . She was no mistake ,she just did not care.

Parking in a handicapped spot comes with a STEEP fine here-- and some serious consequences if caught. That's only if it's deliberate and intentional. Also, misusing/abusing the handicapped placecards comes with a $2,500 fine, and a loss of license, and I believe a revocation is possible, too.

This law was actually passed in 2012, but only became effective this year:

Yeah.

I didn't mean to park in the a handicap parking.

Last night, I took my son to his 6th grade concert. I decided to park in the back of the school where its a convenient coming in or coming out to my home. There have many parking in the front and it has lot of lights that is more visible. In the back and small area of parking, and its a dark area. The ground is all black with white lines that are new. My son wanted to be there so early so we went there. There are an opening and emtpy parking. I know there are a few handicap parking on the right side. It was a dark parking area. I admit that I AM ignorant by not RE-CHECKING or LOOKING DOWN on the ground. WHY? There were no obviously tall handicap sign but there were a very fade lightly blue printed non reflected of handicap spot on the parking. When i saw the empty spot and didnt see anything on the ground.

Good enough, when we returned to the car. I still did not see the NOTE on my windsheild returing to home. The next morning, I spotted the note and realize that I mistakenly parked in the handicap spot. The note says " THANKS FOR TAKING A HANDICAP SPOT." Of course I felt lousy about it because i am DEAF and yet i m such an ignorant on other disabled people. Eh.

I sent the email to school and let them know that they need to set up a noticable tall handicap sign and re painted the dark blue and reflected noticable on the ground. I felt lousy.

did it ever happen to you before?

Not your fault. Happen to me before at night time and paint was fade out and no HC sign. So I parked then walked away then I noticed next lane was like /////// whatever it's called then I just like oh crap then I moved my car to another spot. It's happen to me around few weeks ago and it was my first time ever since driver licence. :o
