Missed Calls on VP

For.. VP users...
To make people understand....
about Missed calls..

I am sure some of you get ticked off when people keep on calling...

I am trying to make people clear and understand what the Missed Calls..

Why do we have Missed Calls.. just like Id Caller..
It did leave your name/ip#/ph number on the missed calls list.. when you call to someone, and not answer or not turn on..
"ringing" for more than 2 min.. means vp is on and not answer because of not home or dont have time to chat on vp.
"dialing" for more than 1 min.. means vp is off...

Either that.. someone's vp does pick up your call on their missed list...

Someone will call back... not to expect that someone WILL or WILL not call.

I get alot of missed calls.. this morning, I got 47 missed calls for only 2 days.

12 from one person within less 2 days.. <-- not too good
8 from one person within less 2 hours. <- not too good
6 from one person within 3 days.. <- ok- ok
2 from one person within 4 days.. <-- thats good one..

Alot people know me that I have 5 kids in the house.. I barely have time.. I dont like to see people keep on calling.. If emergency, use common sense.. email or call tty.. Spring is here, we have alot things to do outdoor, clean up and play with kids (little ones).. cleaned garage.. rotary/culvator the garden to ready for plant.. unexpected company or guest..

I start to not like vp.. because some people EXPECT you answer or call or talk or chat on VP.. everyday.. Only when the good days fall on that day, cuz almost everytime I get on Vp, kids get in the way or need me.. I dont have clone myself or extra arms to do at once.. and, I dont talk everyday, it becomes old and boring.. it will be more exciting to talk once in while...

I know people sees me on AIM or Yahoo Msg.. It didnt means that I am on or on all the times.. I always leave the computer on.. I only often sit on chair more than 10 or 15 min and had to go errands or on kids duty.. I need super glue my butt to the seat.. lol..

Whats more its more polite to call once in while.. just like phone/id..
 
I understand how you feel, It will get me annoying if I was in your place, but I don't have a VP at this moment. That's a lot of calls that you received a per day. :shock:

Once those people who kept on calling you read your thread, and understand where you are coming from, then it might get better, you might will received less calls now. :thumb:
 
Yes i know how ur feel DoofusMama but ur not only also since i get replace my old vp to trade new vp 100 so i check and noticed there is 41 missed calls which my old vp is not work till now.. i was like whoa *smh* so i decied removed all 41 missed calls last few week ago then yesterday i get 9 missed call i was like *smh* so i vp to my friend and let my friend know that i don't use VP all nite bec of DUE work but only expect 2 days are off i m free time but depend not feel like chat on vp blah haha
 
yup, i know what u talk abt it.. i had it before plms alike that.. so traded it last yr.. then now my vp isnt work since nov.. made me sooo mad! i been emailed them everyday sigh..
 
Doofmama, I know what you mean.. It's happen to me all the time. I am up and going around and mostly of the time I am not always home, and in summer time, I will be outside more often, but I wanted to VP with you all, and it all depend where am I, and the time I have. My schedule at home is CRAZY and I wish I have the time, and my husband works a lot and I have to give all the attention to Kyler, and with his t-ball practices and games, and his karate classes on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays. Plus those 2 dogs driving me NUTS. ARGHHHH!!!!!!

It is not like I am igorning you.. You left on my missed call, and I can always call back when I have the time... I did with other people..

To the people that I have VP with, I am sorry if I haven't call back or I don't have the number to call back.. Forgive me... Please PM for number and I can call back to you.. I know you call me, but it's my turn to call back when I get the chances...

And the people that left on my missed call, hang in there, I am trying to find my time to call back.. Don't think that I am being ignore you...


P.S. I am using ESL (Exactly Sign Language or PSE)... Bear with me... I am learning ASL...

I recommend you turn VP block unwanted calls.. for rest of day reason you're busy..

Sometime I use Slash on "phone" means Do not disturb... meaning I'm busy rest of day..

They have to understand... If I remove slash from phone.. Allowed anyone call me.
That's all.. easier for you...
 
I haven't experiences alot of missing calls like you guys do, thats because I don't pass out our VP number out to many only to those who are our true friends, I noticed there are some threads saying would anyone like to see me thru VP, pm me, once you give out your VP number to several people then you are more likely will be getting more than just one call ...

It's like a caller ID, everytime someone calls, and then hung up, the caller ID will still show a red flashing singal of those who called , or what calls we did missed while we're not home...


Just have to be careful who you pass your VP number to, and you also can block those you no longer want them to call ...

Yes, but STILL picks up on the missed call lists.
 
I always unplug the VP during the day (the USB) when I am away for couple of days... But sometime I tend to forget to unplug for the day, and I still get 57 to 100 missed calls from the SAME person. :mad: SAME PERSON has no respect. Why can't she im me FIRST and then see if I am home or not. If I am not home or not on line, then DON'T CALL...

Ha ha ha....

Keep in mind that everytime you turn it on and it waits for the connection to Sorenson. That's why it must keep in line with Sorenson VRS system. Similar to AOL account. See, I do prefer to have my Outlook instead of using Internt provider's account like AOL...

Sadly, Sorenson knows your private list....maybe I am wrong for this one.
 
i know how that feels.. it happen to me once a while.

I believe that VP need to adjust it is... having an answering machine! that'll solve the plm big time.

many deafies out there are thinking u're not answering because you're not around vp .. so try again in few min hoping u catch the ringing/flashing.
 
i agree having an answering machine wld work the best letting them know ur too busy at the moment OR isn't home at the time either way show considerations ladies and gents, dont call SO many times i call at least 2 times and if theres no indefineate answer then they ll call u when they get unbusy with life to chat with you. if its an emergency, family related, use the phone/tty no answer. then just lv a message...

and as always pre arrange the VP time with ur friends or families. this way ur not stressed on answering the vp 24/7 eveyrone knows thier not allowed to call me after 10 and before 6 am, cuz i need my sleep!
 
I get that alot, then i do it back to the person, then that person gets mad then i said that how i feel :mad:
