Michael Jackson gravely ill: reports

Michael Jackson, 50, is reportedly suffering from a potentially fatal lung disease, US news reports say.

The "King of Pop" suffers from Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a rare genetic illness, an unconfirmed report said, adding that he may have to undergo a lung transplant.

"He's had it for years but it's gotten worse," Ian Halperin, author of a book on Jackson, told In Touch magazine.

"He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it... (But) it's the (gastrointestinal) bleeding that is the most problematic part. It could kill him."

The singer, known for his hits Thriller or Bad, can barely speak and is almost blind on his left eye.

Jackson is rarely seen in public.

A few weeks ago, he was photographed in Los Angeles, wearing a Zorro-style mask.

His brother Jermaine Jackson told TV channel FOX News: "He is not well."

Anyway, I still think it is sad to know Michael Jackson is gravely ill. So much for trying to prolong life by sleeping in an oxygen tank or whatever it was...

Anyone who attempts to pay off molestation charges and covers his kids up with masks doesn't get sympathy in my book.

He is anti-social, delusional, and most of all--a joke.

I think this is just a ploy in the Michael Jackson publicity machine to elict sympathies for him.

Sorry--not here he isn't.

He had his opportunity but he blew it!
 
i really feel for michael and his kids (even if most people think he's weird). i used to love michael jackson back in his "thriller" days. i didn't know about this news nor that he's almost blind in his left eye. this is so sad... :(

I couldn't agree with you more.
 
just because one thinks he's a "nut" doesn't mean michael doesn't deserve some compassion and understanding for what he is currently going through. after all, he *is* a human being.

There is no question he is a nut case of the highest level, but there is a reason for his insanity. May be his childhood he never had or some thing else. Yes he has a lot of other problems I don't care to get in to. But I do wish him well and his children all the best. May he finally find peace in himself.
 
I have mixed feelings about him. It is like he is two people now..the hero singer of the 80s and the strange person he has become now who is a possible child molester.
 
I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, no one deserves a fatal illness. Other the other hand, Karma bites!

I wish him well, but I also can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction given all that was said about the molestation charges.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this.

I'm feeling the same vibe. It sucks, because I'm a compassionate person and I don't wish ill on anyone, but if he did it, Karma's biting him HARD now!

Yea, same here. I dont like to wish illnessness on anyone so in that case, I do feel a little sorry for him.
