Mexican Army shoots at American Border Patrol Agents

I wish an apology was all that was needed to get our Marine out of their jail for his accidental crossing of the the border.

Shoot back and start a war for an accident?

They realized what had happened when they were doing a drug interdiction, flew back, and a call of apology was made.

They knew they were in our airspace and they knew they were shooting at US Border Agents.

An apology doesn't cut it. If they didn't want a war .. perhaps they shouldn't be shooting at US agents.

Largo México en vivo!!

Maybe we can trade 5 of the worst drug cartel head honchos for the marine?

To be fair, he was armed several guns and 400 rounds of amunition in another country.

The U.S. would do the same thing.

No, we actually haven't done the same thing. We arm the drug cartels - ever hear of fast and furious?

There have also been a lot of illegal border crossings into the US since this Marine made a wrong turn and ended up in Mexico.

How many of those illegals have been detained?

We need to just shoot the bastages when they make an illegal attempt to enter our country .. period. Send their kids back home in body bags. there is apoint you just do not cross .. that point has been crossed a long, long, long time ago.

Since all those parents that sent their kids .. alone .. across the border are playing stupid games, they deserve stupid prizes.

Shooting little kids for crossing the border?

I would think that is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

To be fair, he turned himself in to authorities immediately.

To be fair, he didn't intentionally enter their country.

To be fair, he didn't use any of his weapons against them.

I hope you aren't serious.

Furious is not even remotely the same thing.

Yes, we detain illegal all the time and separate families as well.

I'm sure they would like to do the same thing to us.

As far as I know, he was intercepted. And, failed to identify himself as military personnel, I might add. That does not sound like turning himself in.

Apparently, this isn't the first time he made an unintentional, "wrong turn":

Mexican Officials: Marine Crossed Border 3 Previous Times | NBC 7 San Diego

To be fair, he didn't use any of his weapons against them.

He didn't have to. Neither does anyone who gets arrested for having a loaded gun in their vehicle in certain U.S. States.

I hope you aren't serious.

Shooting children? No, that is outrageous. The point was that when parents send their kids into the Sonora Desert and relinquish any parental rights, they had better expect their kids to wind up in a body bag. That trek is treacherous even for physically fit and capable adults.

The coyote "enablers" need to be shot on sight. I have no sympathy for them. Mexico then needs to foot the bill for the damage being done to our economy and infrastructure by their citizens.

Oh wow, that was HORRIBLE and where is Mexican government's word on this incident?

Steinhauer, if you actually read on the issue, the kids pouring over the border and being housed are not Mexican. The Mexicans we just boot them back where they came from. The kids from Central America are the ones that are part of a more complex problem.

While i agree that this was not good and a simple apology is not enough. At least no one was killed. And send kids in bags? I live here in the border. Trust me there is a lot of illegal passage form the U.S. border patrol. As there is of the Mexican once too. I have seen so many countless cases of the border patrol been beyond cruel. And there is never an apology. Neither side is right.

Where are the Mexican Officials at the border that are allowing this to happen?
