Hi everyone.... Yesterday afternoon, i went and see Medical Oncologist (Oncologists are physicians who study, diagnose, and treat cancerous tumors. They practice in hospitals and medical centers, university hospitals, and research organizations.) for the MRI results on Oct. 2nd and found that i have cancer in my bones right now. But my female primary physician, Yvonne Jackson (Family Nurse Practitioner) e-mailed me that
"Dear Mikel, They need Dr. Potter's (oncologist) help due to the complex treatment that i am going to need. Plus, there are better specialists in Chico (where we live now) than here (Yuba City, CA). Dr. Potter has helped me (Yvonne Jackson) with other patient that she have who had Thyroid CA - surgery and radiation treatments 5 years ago and she (the patient) is doing great. She (Yvonne) will continue to help in my care, but they really need the specialist now. Let her (Yvonne) know how the visit went - she is sure Dr. Potter will sending her an update.
Thanks --- Yvonne"
Dr. Potter told me that i will have to get blood test and biopsy to pinpoint where the cancer start to spread and also i will have to go through Chemotherapy but i do not know when to start with the therapies..... Pray for me and my wife's strength and courage for my health - Thanks!
i will definitely be praying for you and your family. I know its hard to go through Chemo. I will be praying that you beat this and you and your family stay strong.
WhiteWolves,
I saw my mother go through chemotherapy (she had pancreatic cancer), so I understand what you are going through. You and your wife will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sending lots of hugs your way!
I'll be praying for you and your wife. I hope you will fight against this cancer. Hang in there.
My aunt has cancer in her bone from breast cancer and she is still fighting it. So is my dear friend who was breast cancer free more than 10 years and it showed up in her bone. She is still alive and will live many more years. I hope. Hope for you too. Stay strong and dont let it defeat you.
After i went for biopsy of CT guide on my right pelvic on Oct. 22nd and got the results yesterday (Oct. 24th) from my doctor that showed cancer that spread from the breast to the bones. Because it has spread to the bones they would say that it is Stage 4. This should, however, be pretty treatable. The treatment would be an antiestrogen (Arimidex) and a monthly infusion (not chemotherapy) to help my bones resist the effects of the cancer. If particular bones are hurting a lot (your neck, for example) they could treat them with radiation. And also i asked him if i die from it with honest answer from him... so he said that "this kind of cancer won't be permanently cured, so that i will eventually die of cancer if i don't die of something else first. However, there is a good chance that treatment can control my cancer for a few years. Since, i still have the pain on my neck, arm and pelvic areas (on the right side only) and i will have to undergoing radiation treatments soon. So, please pray for us again! Thank you for your prayers and supports too!
Glad that you will be able to control your cancer. My prayers will be with you for a long life.
I hope your cancer will go into remission as my aunt is now into remission. Estrogen cause cancer to grow for some reason and take antiestrogen will slow down cancer and hopefully stop it and shrink in back into remission for your case. Stay postive and have faith to live a good life. I will continue say a prayer for you in my thought and my heart. After i went for biopsy of CT guide on my right pelvic on Oct. 22nd and got the results yesterday (Oct. 24th) from my doctor that showed cancer that spread from the breast to the bones.
