  • vertigo (attacks can last anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours)
  • loss of hearing in the affected ear.
  • tinnitus (a sensation of ringing) in the affected ear.
  • a feeling of fullness in the affected ear.
  • loss of balance.
  • headaches.
  • nausea, vomiting, and sweating caused by severe vertigo.

Since I have those should I let my doctor know about it. I know there is no cure for it so what could the doctor do.
 
You should bring it up with your doctor if you are experiencing those issues. You may also need to find a doctor familiar with it. It is a condition that doesn't have a single test for diagnosis but it is based on a look at the pattern of symptoms over time. Also, you'll usually need to do tests to rule out other conditions that could be causing it, e.g. tumors. It is helpful to document what you have and when things like vertigo attacks occur and for how long, etc. There isn't a cure but diet changes(such as cutting out sodium) and some meds to reduce the frequency/intensity of vertigo can be prescribed to help lessen the impact of the condition on daily activities.
