I’m so scared that I’m going to upset my family we are meeting for the first time and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to understand them. I don’t won’t to upset them if I need them to repeat themselves.... any advice?

Just be yourself and do best you can. If you don't understand, ask them to repeat it or even write down what they are saying.

If they get upset cause you asked them to repeat, that is their problem not yours cause you are one with hearing loss.

- Just ask from the start if your family will work with you. Explain your situation then ask them if they can talk slower!
