I'm interested in knowing if anyone met their boy/girlfriend online. NO discussion of any dating forums. I'm curious if you met through any types of online forums. For example:

1. someone may have met his boy/girlfriend via an ESPN discussion board.

2. I post something on a facebook auto discussion forum. Someone "like" my comment. I decide to contact the person and go from there.

3. I see someone post an interesting answer on a Star Trek forum. I contact the person as I'm curious why the person answered this way.

4. Maybe you met someone playing Farkles online.

Any stories of yourself or someone you know?

Im in Missouri, I have met a few women in the past online, mainly in chatrooms, I drove/flew to meet them in Kentucky/Texas, was engaged to the one from Texas but it didn't last. We still communicate online. I have recently met another, we are both In the same situation with our relationships, we have a lot in common but haven't met in person yet, just online and phone...who knows what the future holds.

Wirelessly posted

I met my bf online through a mutual friend on fb. We are both NE Patriot fans:)

My fiancee from Philippines on plentyoffish.com
I hear of scams but over the course of time those cannot stand up. She is and was exactly who she portrayed herself to be and if anyone was the less than truthful in the beginning it was I. One well deserved self bash here.

I run a bicycling website (the largest one in the world!) and there have been many people who have met each other in person through our site. We've had quite a few weddings that have developed from their interactions that started with a common love of bicycles! Needless to say, I can honestly name only two incidents where things got a little creepy - but since it's not a dating website, it's less likely for the yuckiness to happen.

I have met a lot of women on POF, great site for free.

Yep I owe plentyoffish a big thank you! It was a productive fishing hole for me too. I took a look the other day and it was still looking like a good spot for fishing. And does not cost one thin dime how you going to beat that? I am especially fond of the astrological sign part. I am a Gemini so it really pays for me to weed out the water signs for dating. Pays for them too. It is a shame they do not have a keywords search box as well. Heck maybe they do I don't remember.

Hmm, I wonder what that site is.

I met up with a few girls from YahooChat waaaay back in the day. One was this half-Chinese half-Indian girl who was possibly the cutest girl I'd ever seen. She brought along her male friend to make sure I was me and not some 50 year old perv, and we went and spent the afternoon wandering around stores and coffee shops. Never saw her again after that though :(

I met a huge circle of friends (including a few girlfriends) through the discussion forum for a nightclub I went to.

If you play any online games and a 'meet' is organized near you, GO. GO GO GO. You'll have an amazing time.

I met my boyfriend on World of Warcraft. We knew eachother for about 3 or 4 years before we started dating. I've been living with him for over a year now and I somehow manage to love him more every day. It's weird feeling like your heart will explode from feelings lol.

I met a local hearing girl gamer from Steam and We played Left 4 Dead 2 game.

I met my husband online. Easy peazy! No regrets. We talked online and on the phone for a few months, then met, did the long distance thing for about six months, then he relocated. Been together ever since. 9 years and going strong!
