Man 'decapitated wife becuse she refused to have children' - Seven News Queensland

A man has faced court in France accused of decapitating his wife because she refused to have children.

The Daily Mail reports Philippe Cousin, 53, had been married to his wife, who was still a virgin, for 21 years.

The court heard his 47-year-old wife refused to have sex him because she feared she would pass on her father's multiple sclerosis.

An autopsy confirmed that Mrs Cousins was a virgin when she died.

On April 16, 2007 Cousin telephoned his local police station and told an officer: "Excuse me for disturbing you, I've killed my wife."

The man had attacked his wife with a kitchen knife following a domestic argument before slicing her head off.

Cousin is facing life in prison for murder but has denied the charge, pleading diminished responsibility.

Council for the accused told the court relations between the couple reached breaking point two weeks before Cousin's 50th birthday.

"His wife had threatened to leave him but he had never undergone any psychiatric treatment because of this," the court heard.

"He had been hugely frustrated over more than twenty years and this built up into a terrifying repressed aggression which finally exploded. He did not feel he was completely in control of his actions."

Whoa! This couple's got some issues! I wonder if the wife has been forthcoming about sex stuff with the husband before they married. A rational man would have had this marriage annulled and find a woman who will meet his needs. This woman should not marry if she knew she doesn't want children and does not want sex. Not to blame the victim but........

This is where I beg to differ about sensitivity.

If a person does not want marital intercourse and/or children to procure from marital relations, this doesn't mean that a person deserves to have his/her head chopped off.

A couple can abstain from marital relations and adopt as well while being married; this would take a great deal of understanding.

I don't see it that way but sorry that you do. I percieved this unfortunate circumstance could have been prevented if they both had dealt with issues beforehand.

That was my thought as well. The article made me wonder if there is more to this story than what it says.

Just a thought, but refusing sex to a spouse for 21 years is considered cruel treatment.

Of course, decapitation equates to murder. He had the option to divorce no?

He could've opted for an annulment since they never consume their marriage soon after the wedding.

Wow,
This guy is Guilty, Guilty, Guilty! Two things come to mind-if he really, really wanted to have children he should have divorced her after the first 4 years. They could have also adopted or hired a surragate mother. The other thing that comes to mind-she was killed a virgin at 47 which means he was cellabate for 21 years, or had sexualle relations on the side with sombody else. I know I couldn't go more than a year without divorcing her.

I would have divorced and claimed cruel treatment and had her institutionalized.

Would have asked for a refund too :giggle:

21 years just means they were both crazy.

She was still a virgin when she died....married 21 years and never had sex with her husband. KInd of strange here....Possible she married the guy for $$ or just security?...But he waits 21 years before he cuts her head off?? Seems both were mentally ill, and there is birth control, was it not considered?

That is exactly what I was thinking. She did not want a marriage .... she wanted something else.

And the guy was just as crazy.

I wonder if they were Catholic (didn't believe in divorce).

Even if they were Catholic, in that situation, the Church would have granted an annulment.

Maybe he was "determined" to get that thang!.....chasing the birdie for 21 years......Did Sylvester ever get Tweety??

Oh ... I get it ... she was the girl with the green ribbon :eek3:

In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories (I Can Read Book Series, I Can Read Book 2 Series, Alvin Schwartz, Book - Barnes & Noble

And he was the curious little boy, Jim.

The Green Ribbon.

A long time ago there was a little girl who had a green ribbon around her neck. One day she went to school and met a boy named Jim. Jim sat behind her in class and noticed the ribbon under her pig tails.

"Why do you wear that ribbon around your neck?" he asked. Someday I'll tell you, she promised.

When they were teenagers, Jim asked the girl on a date. While they were drinking frappes, Jim asked again, "why do you wear that green ribbon around your neck?” She laughed nervously and said, "Well maybe if we ever get married I'll tell you."

Jim fell in love with the girl and they got married. In bed their first night, the only thing his new wife wouldn't take off was the ribbon and he asked, “Okay, we're married now...why do you wear that ribbon on your neck!" She said, "I'll tell you if we ever have kids."

After they had a boy and a girl, Jim asked again,"Please, please, please, WHY DO YOU WEAR THAT RIBBON AROUND YOUR NECK?!?!" She said, if you love me, you'll drop it for now, some day I'll tell you."

So he dropped it. Just accepted the fact that his wife wore a mysterious ribbon around her neck all the time. They got old together, then the woman got very sick, went to the hospital, and the doctor said she was going to die. Her distraught husband sat by her side for days, and finally said, please, tell me now, why do you have that ribbon around your neck? In a croaky voice she said, okay, I'll tell you, take it off now."

He pulled the bow loose and her head fell off

The End

except in that version ... they had kids ...

Something isnt right with this story. :hmm:

ok why did he stay with her so dang long and why did he bother marying her?

:shock:What a shame! 21years? Strange marriage. Just because you don't want to have children doesn't mean you can't have sex. Idk what else to say about that...
