I am not sure who Tom Green is , but I guess you're not a fan of him.He ought to be arrested for renting any movie with Tom Green in it.
http://www.bankrate.com/finance/debt/how-overdue-credit-card-debt-is-bought-and-sold.aspxWOW ! The rental place is not even open anymore and he still got arrested.
OK .http://www.bankrate.com/finance/debt/how-overdue-credit-card-debt-is-bought-and-sold.aspx
It does not necessarily means its from the closed video store, but can be a source of original debt.
They should have limitation on minimum debt, if its cost less than legal bs, should have cancelled that debt to protect taxpayers monies. Waste of money and resource over 10 dollars debt? Insane.North Carolina has no statute of limitations on Theft, but if they are charging him with fraud or a contractual infraction the statute of limitations is three years so it ran out over ten years ago. If it's that's the case then Mr Meyers should bring a suit against the state for failing to clear their books of expired warrants and go after them for damages.
I agree that this was a waste of money and resource and this is why I was surprise it got this far .They should have limitation on minimum debt, if its cost less than legal bs, should have cancelled that debt to protect taxpayers monies. Waste of money and resource over 10 dollars debt? Insane.

You would get arrested for not returning rental car, right? Same concept.
He did not return video, and he asked for it.
The consequence can not be same, the punishment for not returning video would impact credit score, nothing more, while car can be worth thousands of dollars therefore arresting would be justified but for video, its not justified. Like if u didnt pay credit card, u get spot on ur credit report.Problem here is stealing a rental car is grand theft, stealing a video is petty theft at best.
I saw a guy going this once , he parked his car and got out and plugged his phone to a public power outlet to recharge it. I was wondering that was legal .There was a case in Florida where homeless man plugged his phone using public power outlet to recharge only to get arrest for stealing half cent worth of power, judge had to throw it away, got furious for wasting thousand dollars on arresting, booking, and judge's time for .25 cent worth of power.
