I am now watching Back to the Future II. While watching the show, I noticed mistakes, major mistakes. Heh!

Here's a brief description for Back to the Future I. Marty goes back and changes his future a bit. According to Doc's theory of time travel (from Back to the Future II), a traveler who returns from the present after changing history will see a different present. Since Marty changed history, his present changed a little bit.

Now, with Back to the Future II... major changes were made. However, major flaws contradicted with these theories. Marty, Doc, and Elizabeth go to the future. Since they changed the future, they had no concern about what would happen to their present. While in the future, Biff went back in time and altered history dramatically. According to Doc's theory, Biff's present would have changed since he's the time traveler at the moment. That means, if he went back 60 years and then returned to the present... it wouldn't be that exact present since history was changed dramatically. Yet, Doc and Marty return to their present with Elizabeth and lay her down at her front porch. They later realize that their present has been dramatically changed because Biff changed history. Since Biff changed history, Doc and Marty's present changed. However, in Back to the Future III... Marty returns to the present and finds Elizabeth fine. How did that happen. Doc and Marty left Elizabeth in the altered present before going further back to 1955. After changing the present again, Elizabeth would be gone... right? However, she's still there.

What do you guys think?

to make sure, Elizabeth is the girlfriend? I am actually watching Back to the Future II... basically you are asking why she is still there even though the past for everybody else has drastically affected their present? Allright.. I will say that because Elizabeth's past (parents' lives etc) weren't involved with Biff nor Marty/Mom's situtation thus the lives of Elizabeth and her family weren't affected by the choices Marty/Biff made in the past. To push it to an extreme form-- Rock n Roll still exist int he present even though Marty Jr plucked the guitar and brought the glimpse of Rock N Roll to an naive 50's audience at the prom... yet the apperance of Elvis and whoever still exists and are remembered int he present. why? because Elvis wasn't involved with marty's mom fighting off biff's sexual advances.
Simple as that. Those who change their own past which only affect those who participate in the process of creating the present, i.e. parents who raise you, siblings living under the same roof.

... [threw in her two-pennies and now turning to watch the remaining of the movie to see if her theory works]

MY ONLY BIG PROBLEMS WITH THAT MOVIE--- HOW THE HELL DOC STILL INVENT THE TIMEMACHINE (DELOREAN) EVEN THOUGH HIS PAST HAS BEEN CHANGED MANY TIMES? Or is it the past AFTER he invented the time machine that have been changed many times? :ugh:
Simply mind-boogling movies that are the classics of our times.

The time-space travel paradox in all the BTTF movies are so damn complicated that I can't even keep track of which present timeline Marty and Doc would end up in both BTTF II and BTTF III....

Vamp, I'd advise ya to go to http://www.bttf.com and pay the forums a visit since there's a lot of ppl discussing the flaws in the BTTF movies.

Despite the flaws, I do still love the BTTF triology :)

and oh shit I now remember that 2005 is the 20th anniversary for the first BTTF! Im probably hearing rumors about the release of a 20th anniversary BTTF special on DVD but I :dunno: ......

In that case, I better keep an eye out for the 20th Anniversary Edition! ;)

well there is already a back to the future DVD triogly box set...so who knows about a 20th anniversary orginal film?

it could be possible.

I just watched the third film today about Doc going back to 1885...of course, that got me puzzled...did Doc make two time machine cars or something?? lol

as the first time machine car got destoryed in the lighting (or so it seems) near the end of BTTF2...how on earth would the same car in the cave in BTTF3 be there? even though the same car got destoryed, but the car in the cave is still there??!

it's like if a person got sent into the past when his parents were teenagers, and if one of his parents died, then the person wouldn't even exist in the future! but he still exist...in the present? same thing with the damn car!

ugh...I think I should just get some rest.

I think the car wasent destroyed in BTTFII but it sent doc to 1885 then doc hid it in the cave since it was in 1885 the car was still there in 1985 for Marty to Find.

You're right. The car wasn't destroyed. It was destroyed in 1985 in Back to the Future III.

since u bring it up this topics ummm.... one things in my back mind at the end of BTTF III notice that train have pretty much techology for that old west times how earthy did he get all these stuffs like glass and blah blah u know .. it really doesn't make any senses even fly out oh come on ... even it would be nice new movie called " Doc's travel times" it would be more relate with his family life and see how interest things goes out there what he has affect even his kids change the huge mistaken history umm... so Doc or mother have to rush and change back to the dot points ... or probaly run back to Marty for help them out ... something like that ... or it could be whip out the mcfly family after all ??? they wouldn't be here afterall ???
