Lying and truthfulness are diametrically opposed concepts. Lying involves intentionally making a false statement; truthfulness involves intentionally making a true statement.

Discussing Truth and Lies.. some deaf people go their way of lying to their friends, in forums.. why do they lie to protect themselves, make them look good? Lying often gets worse with the passage of time. When you get away with a lie it often impels you to continue your deceptions. Also, liars often find themselves perpetrating more untruths to cover themselves.


Why do we dislike liars? It’s a matter of trust. When a person lies, they have broken a bond (an unspoken agreement to treat others as we would like to be treated.) Because the issue of trust is on the line, coming clean about the lie as soon as possible is the best way to mend fences.. Agreed?


Have you lied about someone else and came clean later?
 
Indeed I have lied and came clean a few times. Too painful to explain here. But Im proud of myself for coming clean. That way I can live with my conscience and know Im recognizing my weaknesses/strengths.
 
I agree with you! However, if person lies about anything, truth always comes out eventually. The light always comes out of darkness...God reveals the truth. :)


What makes you brings this issue up? What makes you think about it? Just curious...is there someone you were trying to give message to??

Remember, God is the only judge, not us...I understand how you feel about people lying, etc...you know, I learned to sit back and listen to people's feelings... I learned when people tells me about their problems...there is always two sides of stories...always! It doesnt mean this person lies...it could be mean this person has their own perspective of what happened to them...does this make sense? :)

Well, let me tell my story about my experience with one woman whom I was in relationship with for 7 months.

I first met her in December on Ringo.com when she respond me about birthday polls. We talked for 2 months until February 14, I asked her out. Then I began notice she lied about some stuff but I thought it was normal for people online at first then she may become more open after we meet. We meet. Everything was okay. Then she began lie more. I was blind until September when I notice funny stuff about that woman. I asked one girl whom that woman said that she stole her b/f 3 years ago. That girl was stunned that woman accused her of stealing her guy. She said that this boy left that woman because she neglect him. She decided to come forward that woman had big problem with lying. Her big issues were sex! Which make me really uncomfortable. When it come to animals, it come to sex. Also when it come to human, it come to sex. She obsessed with sex! She give me specific details about her sexual past (how she make out with boy, playing with boy's balls). I have to admit that I once lied to her to protect myself and to push her away since she was too strong like sumo wrestler. She wouldn't leave me alone. After I made mistake, my mom came to me and said that she receive threatening note from that woman accusing her of neglecting and abusing. But she forgave me because I never meant to say bad things about my mom. I said bad things so that woman could get fucking out of my life! I am glad that she is fucking out of my life! I want that since July! Now, I am happy with my new beautiful girlfriend. My life is much better!

Well, what if she didnt lie about her past? You should have never listen to anyone else ~ only to your partner...know what I mean?

That is what I hate about men...every time, I mean every time, when Im innocent...they always listen to others instead of believes me...that is what I hate about relationship...

I understand how you felt about your ex. I think it was wrong of you to listen and believe others...that is my perspective...

Im sorry that you had to go through. And glad you met someone new...but I think you need to owe your ex an apology for what you put her through...

I want my ex to owe me apology for hurt my emotionally...soo I suggest you to tell your ex that you are sorry for everything...nice way so she wont get more bitter...ya know...

I already hate gunman already...I want nearly want to beat the hell of him! but...its just my saying not doing,...lol

I have someone that have said lies about me and doesn't have any evidence to back her story up sometimes I wondered if my ex friend who I thought was my friend trying to make herself look good or just trying to get out of a friendship with me... :confused:
 
yeah, I have noticed some people tends to keep on lying just to hurt someone they dislike by trying to fit in , or getting all the attention from others... :booty:

If they want to lie about someone, then let them, cause they're the one who making a fool out of themselves and if your friends tend to believe in those who lied , then let them cause one day it would happen to them! :smash:

Hugs Cheri.............it is painful I know.

I guess you will never know why she did these lies but you cannot take it personally. She is not able to talk to you like a mature friend would.

Hold your head up high and know that she needs to be pitied, not you. Someday she may come to terms with it or she may not but either way, you know the truth anyway.
 
I think that person is not member of AllDeaf.com anymore since we broke up.

Well, that girl admitted that she had some hidden secrets because of long distance relationship! It's stupid! What she would do if her b/f was in Iraq? She would lie to her boyfriend when he's away on duty?

Wow, When I was 7 grade, I used to lie alot until I realized all ppls hate(dislike) me and refuse talk me. Then it took me 3 years to earn full trust, honest, true friends and respects. I'm glad I threw all lies away when I spoke truth. Sometime i do White Lies for BEST reasons.
 
Normally, I don't lie. In fact, I rarely make lies.

But yes, I have lied from time to time, but for certain reasons and I don't regret lying for these reasons. Sometimes, you just have to lie.

I know tons of deaf ppl who lies all the time and never admit that it's very childish to lie... :ugh: it's like they are calling you names for no reason.

one time a "friend" who was also friends with my best friend has tried to frame him for false statement, such as rape, and he never intend to act violent or crazy against any girls and I've known him for nearly 18 years and he never even pulled a stunt on a girl in front of me before. she thinks she can lie only because she's a girl and thinks he can get locked up easily for that kind of crap but she was too chicken to tell on him so because others will find out it's not true anyway...but her friends believe her because they are just her stupid friends...it wasn't rape because the whole thing was actually her idea...she gave him oral sex and let him touch her breasts and stuff like that...and then out of nowhere, she screams mindlessly, "RAPE!" because she wished she never done that and if she didnt' want to do it in the first place, at least have a fucking brain! I REALLY hate liars...seriously I do. I hate liars so much that they deserve a beating and spend some quality time in a hospital for their pitiful and unexcuseable act like threatening my best friend's life for nothing.
she thinks she's so fucking cool she can get away with anything, especially lying but at least she got caught red handed and she deserves it. what a bitch. :lol:
