I have a bit of a problem to solve and wondered if anyone could help.
I have a lovely one double bed flat in Hackney, just a minutes walk away from Broadway Market and a few from London Fields with all the restaurants and pubs. Under ten minutes walk to Bethnal Green tube. Buses at the end of the road into town and out further East. It's in a low rise 1930s ex-local block. I have re-done the bathroom since moving in and redecorated including putting down new floors. I love it there.
There's just one problem.
I have a noisy neighbour. The problem is loud music. I have been through the council but as he tends to be sporadic with his offending, we haven't been able to get a continuous case in order to get him out. I would like to move in with my boyfriend and we have talked about moving him into my flat but do not want to have to put up with this noise any more.
This is the only problem I ever experience in this otherwise lovely flat, but it affects me enough to make my life miserable whilst it's going on.
Then it occurred to me....perhaps the solution is for someone with impaired hearing to live there.
The guy is only noisy. He's in his forties I'd say, so not young and having loads of parties, he just loves to play terrible music loudly.
Anyway, I wondered if anyone within your community might be looking for a flat in the area or if you can post a notice to find out.
Rent, inclusive of service charge, wireless connection, BT Vision package and electricity and gas, is £1000 per calendar month. I'd need a deposit and all usual references but what I am chiefly looking for is someone who will enjoy and care for my flat, enjoy the lovely area, but who won't be affected by excessive noise.
Let me know if you have any more questions or think this is a terrible idea!
