Hi,

I am 24.
I recently became HOH and need to pick up ASL because I am going deaf (in my family when you reach adulthood, at some point you begin to lose your hearing until you are profoundly HOH/Deaf). I have started within this year. I went from Normal hearing -to- Moderate hearing loss within 1 year.

I am taking an ASL course at my university, but I need people to practice with
through Skype.

I am taking ASL now in my college if you would like to practice with me, I only know a little bit so I may not be much help though

Hey,
I would love to practice- thank you.
Maybe we might end up helping each-other with picking up different aspects of the language as we go along. Also, just having the opportunity to practice will improve the skill for both of us.
My Skype is Sarah Beck
If you have a hard time finding me on Skype then just leave your skype info and ill add you.
Thanks for the post!

Thankyou, that really helps. I appreciate it! I don't have a TTY machine, but I can use my cell phone to text that TTY number, right?

Sorry if that seems like an odd question. Again my hearing loss is fast and recent so I'm just learning new ways of doing things and I have never seen a TTY before but I am aware of what it is. Just not sure if I can send a text and they will get it. :hmm:

No, you can't text/sms a tty. Why don't you just email them?

From drphil's link, it lists text and tty as the same #. So chances are sarahh can text it,

Hi hi! I'm 22, and in ASL 3. I'm still not so good at ASL but I aim to be "fluent" with my signing. If you wanna chat via skype, my name is: Kellysaurusnomsbabies

:)

I'll Skype with you. I'm chronically ill so I'm pretty much stuck at home all day doing nothing. I'd be more than happy to help you out. I also need to practice my signing. I lip read mostly to make it easier on everyone else. (Please don't lecture me, I'm working on changing this.) So I'm a bit rusty, but I'd love to have a signing buddy! :D I'm a bit shy at first but once I get to know you I'll warm up. :)

My Skype username is 'KhronicallyBreathless'.

No - there is nothing on their website that states that the number is "TTY/TEXT" I'm assuming that drphil himself just worded is as TTY/TEXT.

my VP is 478-787-6772
My name is Gisela. I live in Macon GA
If you want to talk call.

Gisela - it's better to post that you're willing to exchange contact information and then do it privately. Putting your phone number here makes it easy to find (on the internet in general) and you could start getting some seriously unwanted calls.

If you make 5 posts here, you'll be able to send and receive private messages. For now, I would edit out that phone number.
