Obviously it happens, I've just never talked with anyone before that it has happened to! I've never even met anyone with diplomatic immunity
There are several accidents that looks like in the movies does happen in real life.
Bad idea to think it is just limited to the movies.
I'm pretty sure I've got slim odds of being hit by anyone with diplomatic immunity

My wreck was in Pensacola, FL.your odds will go up if you're within NYC area. where I work and live has tons of diplomats or those with diplomatic immunity. I've encountered quite a few reckless drivers and a couple drivers with terrible road rage.
I wish!
The guy with diplomatic immunity was an Iranian flight student (during the reign of the Shah of Iran) who was being trained by the US Navy on the base where I lived and worked. (I have more stories about them.) He crossed four lanes to hit me head on with his older model (meaning heavy) Lincoln Continental. I was driving a little two-seater, new, Porsche 914. It had a mid-engine, behind the passenger compartment, so the empty front end just crumpled up. No injuries though.
I forgot to mention that the DUI video happened on the same street where another driver once threatened to kill Hubby while they sat at a red light! (That was an incident separate from my car wreck on that street.)
Also, on an entrance ramp from that same street, connecting to the interstate, my Jeep was rammed by an impatient driver, who then tried to run over me when I got out to look for damage.
I absolutely hate driving that street but it's the only one connecting our home to the street to our church and to the college where I used to work and where we are now students. It's also notorious for pedestrian fatalities. We've had some close calls with people running, walking, and staggering into traffic.
Last month, Hubby and I were on the motorcycle, and almost got creamed at the intersection to our church. We had a green left-turn arrow (right of way) when a woman driving from the other direction, and had a red light, decided she was going to force her way across the intersection. Even when she stopped inches from us, she kept creeping forward, trying to push us out of the way! At the same time, she was screaming at us and waving her arms at us.
...and people wonder why I prefer to take on-line classes.
Yes - I hate drunk drivers and I see some of them - report to state trooper.
Paying a road tax....and the highways are still somewhat terrible in N.C........The Tax Man in N.C. is really greedy....
I do have a camera in my Jeep.Angel1989 said:WOW Reba, seems like you need a dash cam to catch those arses!! I absolutely hate people who drink and drive. In most cases the drunk person doesn't get hurt, only the innocent people.

I hear that the diplomats in NYC area cost the city millions in unpaid parking fines.

That picture doesn't show the camera very well but it looks like it. Of course, they're selling the strap, not the camera.
