Local attractions where you grew up?

I have been to Woodfield Mall many times. One of my favorite place to go to. I liked their ice rink inside it. Don't know if they still have that.

Last time I was there they did. Now? :dunno:

Part of Woodfield Mall. This is just a tiny part of how huge it is. It's one of the largest in the United States. Largest, of course, is The Mall of America.

I need to head back here again. 7 years and counting.

I was at Bass Pro Shop in Gurnee Mill Mall few days ago. They have their own small version of Shedd Aquarium. It was so cool to see!!!

Growing up in AZ, the nearby famous attractions were Saguaro Park in Tucson and the Grand Canyon.

I'm an air force brat I didn't grow up any ONE place.

Of all the places I lived the Philippines and Washington had the best places to go.

Any Arcade machines, like Pacman, or Defender (scored 2,188,150 points in 2 hrs), or Donkey Kong....

Gurnee Mills Mall. I spotted an aerial photo of the IL Six Flags, and that's up next.

This place is HUGE, but Woodfield is way bigger.

We have family in Gurnee and I think we went to that mall many many years ago.

My favorite thing in the summer used to be the Lithuanian festival. It's no longer in Chicago, I think it moved to Lemont. At least where I live now there's a bazaar coming up that I can go do, there's a fairly decent Lugan population here.

We also moved around a lot due to my dad's work, so I'm not even sure of all the places we lived.

Hubby was the opposite--lived in one house from birth until being drafted at age 18. I can't imagine that!

Philippines and Washington--yes, those would be two diverse but very interesting places to live. Very different "local attractions" indeed.

They recently announced that, in the next ten years, the Mall of America will double in size!!

Maybe not here anymore, but there's always Pulaski Day and everything else.
