It not good to scrub your skin a lot if you're using antibacterial soap , I use a wash cloth to scrub off dead skin . The wash cloth get washed in washing washing . I heard the body scrub brushes can have germs on them if they're not cleaned off. Loofahs can harbor a lot of germs. Germs like dark wet places. If the body scrub brushes do not a change to dry out between showers the germs will keep on growing! Gross!

right. scrub it with regular soap. clean your scrubbing apparatus after use. and you're good. and don't scrub often otherwise your skin will get thinner and more sensitive. 1-2x a week is fine to allow your skin to regenerate.

Yeah , when you buy liquid soap you're adding more trash to our landfill and you need oil to made the bottles the liquid soap come in. People are using way too much antibacterial soap , and this kill the good bacterials on your body. I use cold water when I am in publle rest room , I heard cold water kill the bacterials better than warm water. and I do not turn on the water on and off with my bare hands , I use paper towel. Once you touch the
faucets and door handle with your bare hands they're no longer clean! And you use the antibacterial for nothing! I see women do this all the time , they use a lot antibacterial soap then turn the water with their bare hands and open the hand with their bare hands! Then go back to their table to eat! Hello! Any one home!!

not true. hot water kills/reduce germs but warm water is fine - according to CDC. Germs do not have a tolerance for higher temperature. That's why boiling water kills germs.

I prefer Dove liquid....it works better and way less dry on my skin. My baby use Dove soap bar...it works fine for him. (cheaper too)

My hubby use Dial soap bar.

Our oldest boy use liquid...so far he have no complain.

I will not buy Dove as they test on animals. I try to use products that do not test on animals. Animals testing is really horrible and painful to the animals.

Dove use test on animals? Darn...I don't know any other soap bar that is good for sensitive skin that don't test on animals.

We used bar soap, then I changed to liquid, after reading about germs being left on bar soap, especially after hand washing....But we recently went back to bar soap because liquid soap is more expensive! We use hand sanitizer for our hands, tho. We wash our hands a lot, and "knock wood", no colds going on for a long time. First thing my boys do when they come home from school is wash their hands.....

sad yes but animal testing was why Dove soap is gentle on skin. I am using Dove soap too but now I'm trying this new soap from Whole Food. It's some "organic" soap made from olive oil or something :dunno2:

Ah... that good ole' classic scare tactic by liquid soap companies. Trust me - it's perfectly fine. Once you start lathering and washing your hand with warm/hot water... you're clean!

Even liquid soap dispenser has germ brewing on handle and in the nozzle. It's best to not get germophobic over it.

Bar Soap. it's better. much better than antibacterial soap.

I use liquid, hubby uses bar (only thing for the body odor), son and daughter use their own liquid body wash.

There are 3 bottles of liquid body wash, 2 bottles of conditioner, 6 bottles of shampoo and 1 bar of soap in the shower. (I have to vary my shampoos)

Wrong, you should not scrub your skin really hard , this is very bad to do with older people as their skin is very thin, it could pull the skin off . I had be very care when I gave my clients a shower or sponge bath. And I do not use soaps that smell like flowers, I do not want bees following me around!

*ahem* you don't know me in person. HA!, i don't scrub too hard on my skin and not everyday. that's my choice. people had their own choice either use scrub or not (yea for some people with sensitive skin). my skin is still soft and smooth :D

i don't use the brush by the way, i use the cloth wash. that pic i showed is just a picture that's all. sorry if that pic offended you.

and oh, bees don't follow me around when i'm wearing nice smelling cologne, if bees sting me then, oh well, bees would die anyway and i still live.

peace to you!. ;)

My allergies are such that I haven't found too many things I can use daily. Daughter wants "fruity" scents. Son uses an all-in-one body wash and shampoo. Hubby has the only bar soap for 2 showers daily. We don't spend much money on them. My most expensive purchase in there is the shampoo and conditioner that I but from the beauty shop. Don't buy online often, even though this shampoo and conditioner is available online, but for more money.

Sometimes, I use sand-like rag to scrub my skin. Dead skins can clog up pores which can cause pimples. Whenever I do that, my skin feels a bit more smooth and clean.

I think it also depends on your genetic and where you live. Dry air or humid can affect your skin too.

I heard on TV that is best to use cold water to wash your hand , but we're not being told to do this as people will not wash their hands long enough using cold water. This was on TV when the Swine flu was going on. It is too bad the health departments can not made their minds up as they said cold water is better on TV.

I use soap put out by 'Clearly Natural' , it a pure glycerine soap . It is
hypo allergenic and cruelty free. I get it at Market Baket and it cost 89 cents
a bar, I use the vitamine E or Aole Vera kind. I been using this for years and on my face too. You could look on line for cruelty free soap for sensitive skin , there has to been some out there, What about 'Tom of Maine ' they're
a cruelty free company.

Yeah , when the swine flu was going around people stockpiling antibacterial jell to carry with them when they when out. I just wash my hands and kept my hands away from my face and I was fine last winter. When I was in college a professor told the class a lab went to restaurants that had bowls filled candy at the front door and the lab technicians took some candy back to their labs . Urine was found on the candy ! Other germs where found too .
People were not washing their hands or going a real poor job ! This is why I do not touch the door handles in public restrooms , it there urine on the candy , there going to be urine on the door handles.

well I don't know who said that in tv but I can assure you that warm/hot water is the best way to clean your hand. This is a decades old remedy. As for swine flu - washing hand helps but hand sanitizer works better together because it kills virus. Soap can't. That's why my work installed hand sanitizer units all over.

from CDC site on Swine Flu -
What is the best technique for washing my hands to avoid getting the flu?
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. CDC recommends that when you wash your hands -- with soap and warm water -- that you wash for 15 to 20 seconds. When soap and water are not available, alcohol-based disposable hand wipes or gel sanitizers may be used.* You can find them in most supermarkets and drugstores. If using gel, rub your hands until the gel is dry. The gel doesn't need water to work; the alcohol in it kills the germs on your hands.

yea oh well - it's disgusting wherever you go. nothing we can do about it. but what really kill you is living a germophobic lifestyle. Your immune system will get to the point where it's too weak to fight against any simple common illness that most people don't get sick from or can recover from it quickly. This is one of the reasons why people develop multiple allergies at later age.

Urine is normally sterile.
