Hi, I am AJ, but sign name Kat. I from Oklahoma, I am hard of hearing, but I not wear hearing aide I just got back into signing again with baby who is 10 months old now & talk with friends in sign. I grew up til 14 where accident took right ear hearing, now 26. I not live full in hearing world but I not think I call self Deaf, I live in middle feel like I force to fit in hearing world when I just want to be silent.

I always look for new friends, patient if want sign with me, I speak ASL learn from 15-19 but stop when marry cause ex husband mad that I sign then not speak when I was upset, i got hit for it. Now I on my own, with my kids, and trying to find more loyal friend who can sign. I teach sign to baby, and older kids want learn sign too again from when they baby use sign but not sign anymore either. I have 3 kid total, 1 boy 2 girl

I not know many people in Oklahoma City/Norman area in Oklahoma that sign and it kind of lonely, because of not be able to live in one world or other with so hearing, I not have lots friends now since military re-station other state now. I like Game, I play Xbox 360, PS2 & Wii.

I hope Alldeaf will help me expand my knowledge of ASL & maybe help me make new friends and smiles, here hope *cross fingers*

What is your first language? If you are latened hoh, I would think English, but your writing seems to tell another story. :hmm:

Well as I have been around and using ASL, my writing reflects different where I can allow my head to think without remember to write what hearing friend call 'normal grammar' because I think in ASL structure before English the more I am involved with signing. English speaking form come second almost it seem. When I sign, I can express and be 'me' and connect, speaking doesn't do that for me. My deaf friend I talk to, he says how I type speak is show I am a mix cause it not total 'deaf' and it not total 'hearing' speak.

I hope thats not too confusing
