Liars?

Well,

It is okay to lie for ANY REASON. If anyone asked you and want to know. It is not their business. It is good for own protection of privacy.

That makes sense to you??

Best thing to say is "Why do you want to know? - I don't want you to get involved".

If they still question you more - best thing to say is "Why do you want to know, do you want to hear more make-up talks, I don't know yet - Leave me alone please!"

Vampy, I understand your point... It's her problem, not everyone... It's teacher's job to deal with students who tried to make feeble excuse... It's up to teacher either he/she take her lies or not...

Have you see my thread "types of lies"? It's interesting debate... I'm honest person but not too prefect person but you can see in my posts that I could be "white lie" sometimes... bad lie is too different as white lie... but at Vampy's description sound that a student have to tell lie to defend herself... but what she did is refuse to admit is bad because of many absence which is too much...

Vampy..if the girl is lying about her classes, she is probably feeling ashamed to admit that she is not a good student after all. She is probably covering that up by blaming the teacher. As for the guy who lied about being a manager...maybe he lied cuz he was ashamed of his job and same thing for the girl who claimed to be a student. It sounds like those people lied cuz they are ashamed of the truth so let them be cuz they are not hurting anyone else. Eventually, they will either stop lying about their problems or face the consequences from not accepting their mistakes or who they are and will have to deal with it on their own.

If someone lied and it hurted u personally, that is wrong.

We have all lied from time to time.

YM, I appreciate the insight on why people would lie and what we can do about it. It should be an article ;) I'm curious about your take on the "sin" of omission!

VP - obviously that girl who didn't attend her 7 classes have problems with her priorities AND her integrity. I think YM has a point about her lies not hurting you (insulting you, maybe, tho), but they do reveal her problems. She sounds young and she can learn from bad choices in college. She will. If she's not psychopath or mentally ill.

If I remember, you are a RA at RIT or NTID - you could be in the position to talk with her about your concerns if any and if it's anything she could talk with you about (better priorities, cutting down partying, bad crowd, etc?).

so am I you're not alone... Until they turn older enough can understand why it's just fantasy fairy tales... doesn't mean that lying teeth but still part of non-science fiction as same non-fiction..

The books are always lying? Some of books have fun fantasy fairy tales stories.. make you feel enjoy reading not make you blame the author is full of bs.. isn't about it..


Espically Real life talk with your family or friendship... That painful for you keep constantly lying teeth.. that your call will come worst and become ugly door mat!

I has to honest with you that it doesn't bother my sons after learn that they are not real... I am not angry with my parents for that. I understood that every parents likes to re-fill their children joy.

I has to admit that I read fairy tales sometimes.... :D

Pathetic liar is the worst... Yes...which different as I let my children beleive fairy-tales stories...
 
The books mentioned are not "lies"; they are fantasy for children and a fun, educational safety valve AS LONG as one knows and is well-grounded in reality, it's all good. So don't feel bad that you are "lying" to your children because your'e not lying.
 
It just came up in my mind.. I tought a person would still be my best friend.. Recently, I found out she have been lying to me, she used me to get an internship at place where I work at... She kept on making excuses for not wanting to hang out with me.. she even dropped me as a friend out of blue and no reason... I think she may have used me for obtaining some information about my workplace.. Next time in person I will confront her if I run into her. I hate people who used me to be in politics and stuff... Lucky I do have few true close friends, phew!

In the Bible it says that Satan is the " Father of all lies " but that is no excuse to say " The devil made me lie. " Still have to be responsible for what you say or do just like in everyday life. Vampy, There is not too much you can do about those type of people.

You know the Harley Davidson motorcycle motto. " Let and Let Live ". :) :thumb:
