A man who has influenced music for decades and many singers through the years... he just had his birthday and released a new album on his birthday...
David Bowie passed away due to battling lung cancer- an 18 month battle.

That is messed up... I just watched a doccumentary on David Bowie, and listened to his new albums ( mainly dark and about death ) and here, he dies.... I guess that explains his recent music as he refused to do any more interviews and I guess the reason why is he was keeping everything private. Sad to see the first celebrity to go this year... RIP David, you pushed the limits of gender bender, art and self expressions and influenced a new genere of music as you moved along.

RIP David Bowie. His name has been around pretty much all my life.

No, he didnt have that. He got punched by a friend on the schoolyard and almost lost his eye, it was saved but it changed color and pupil permanently dialated.

Bowie received a serious injury at school in 1962 when his friend George Underwood punched him in the left eye during a fight over a girl. Doctors feared he would become blind in that eye. After a series of operations during a four-month hospitalisation,[13] his doctors determined that the damage could not be fully repaired and Bowie was left with faulty depth perception and a permanently dilated pupil. Despite their altercation, Underwood and Bowie remained good friends, and Underwood went on to create the artwork for Bowie's early albums.[14]

I enjoyed his music back in the day, and I used to have his albums. I remember seeing his movie The Man Who Fell to Earth (it was kind of weird). I once named a kitten after one of his personas, Ziggy Stardust.

He certainly was innovative.

It's too bad cancer caused his early death. :(

He didnt make the Bowie knife... He used the Bowie name to seperate himself from Davie Jones of the Monkees, David Bowies real name is David Jones.
