Shame on you, you add after I mentioned Washington. SMH!

You posted it along with my quote almost four hours later. Have you been smoking?

I enjoyed watching a movie (with special visual effects) more when I was high. Nothing wrong with that.

Well in my experience i would argue the Deaf suffer under high rates of addiction and drug abuse. i have no doubt about that. due to the nature of the community and the isolation we must bare. the affects of hard drugs particularly are very acute. as with the isolation from the hearing world they also suffered very horrible isolation if not down right exile from the deaf for being addicted. ive witnessed it with my own eyes so yeah i would say addiction is a very very hungry monster regarding Deaf,
weed isn't a hard drug but i wanted to answer the question asked
proof well what would you accept as proof?

i knew a few who went here Home

to help safe what ever life they had left.
it was partially successful.
but this thread is about weed not junk, or crack or whatever so
for what its worth

I like hitting my head with a hammer because it feels good when I stop.

There are a lot of hearing people doing the exact same way, what this has to do with Deafness?
I think she talked about deaf people who are jobless due to disability so they decide to get fu*ked up. :laugh2: (Which is not 100% true)

as to hitting your head with a hammer. yes by all means i believe you should be allowed to hit yourself with hammers.
or is it a better idea to have cops drag you to prison for doing it or to prevent it
which is a better idea for society
mmmmmm

Of course you know I was just joking, but you are getting close. It all comes down to community standards, and with the media attention this will keep getting, more states will follow suit. Something is up.

A mellow population is a more easily led complacent population?

Just because someone smokes weed doesn't mean they NEED it in their life to be happy. Not every person that drinks alcohol is an alcohol just like not every person that smokes weed is a raging pothead. Stuff just isn't that black and white. The effects of weed are grossly, and I mean GROSSLY, exaggerated. When I was in my late teens and very early 20s I did a lot of experimenting. I've tried probably just about everything heroin, hated it, cocaine, hated it, angel dust, mescaline, LSD, mushrooms, ecstasy, MDMA (that was actually just a few years ago) and Special K (that's the only pill I've used of course it's a horse tranquilizer but whatever lol) oh and opium. And of course alcohol, Tabacco and caffeine, don't forget that's a drug too. I probably can't clearly express just how mild weed is compared to every other drug, AND I was never addicted. My addictions to nicotine and caffeine show me just HOW not addicted to weed I was. It's literally the only drug, including nicotine, caffeine and alcohol that CANNOT kill you. It is impossible to OD on it. I don't smoke it anymore but I've always been dumbfounded that alcohol is legal but weed isn't. Alcohol is by far a "worse" drug, it effects a person far far more that canabis. That's experience talking, not conjecture.

Oh and BTW it's really not THAT expensive, not when I used to smoke it anyway. $20 for an 1/8 and $40 for a quarter. It's not like you can smoke that in one night either, unless you're smoking up all your friends too. That could last a toker a week or more, a casual smoker a month or more. That's run of the mill weed. Kind bud is pricier. I've paid 80 for a quarter of kind bud before, but it's more potent, you smoke waaaay less of it so a bag if that will last quite a bit longer so it even outs.

So, what is the point in smoking weed then?

I certainly don't support alcohol use either.

To someone on a low fixed income, that is a lot of money to just smoke away.

It's been a while since I toked some doobie and wouldn't be surprised if I do so again. I like the feeling it gives me. Oh well.
I understand the Colorado cops are squawking about people smoking and then driving, saying that it impairs your driving. TOTAL NONSENSE.

I was just explaining that it's probably not expensive as you think it is, it's not exactly a bank breaking drug habit, people probably spend more on beer that on weed. It's not often you're going to find someone losing their job, foreclosing on their house blah blah because weed. You don't seem knowledgable about it, so I was just providing info....it's not like cocaine, that's just a whole different level of drug use.

Because it feels good? Hot baths make you feel good but do HAVE to have one to be happy? I don't know if I can explain it well to someone with your mind set, it's kind of like explaining the color blue to a blind person. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, you're just not going to "get it".

For someone accustomed to it, for sure. For a newbie they'd prob drive 20 miles an hour and stop at stop signs and sit there waiting for it turn green.

BUT if someone does both, drink and blaze, that should have a stiff penalty. They're both depressants so they exaggerate the effects of the other. Not sure how they could test for both though since THC stats in your system long long long after the affects have worn off.

I used to once every few years after I'd stopped, but mostly it makes me want to go to sleep :) that's the only reason I don't. Though I'm sure I will again at some point in my life ;)
