Republicans don't want people to get all joyous, hoping to distract the public on health care because they don't want the public to think, "Maybe the Democrats are better at war than the Republicans?"

We killed the leader of Al Qaeda.

We need more proof on this...hopefully thats the end of the war with the terrorists.

Usually most leaders are hard to spot when it comes to terrorist and crime related organizations. They take ALOT of protection than it looks.

Only one leader out of twenty.

The one they killed originally came from Somalia.

Interesting...this terrorist organization seems to be alot more complicated than I thought.

We need rid of Bin Laden, that what I want and thanks to Bush for fail to capture or kill Bin Liden during 8 years of presidency.

He's not even near the top of the list either...

So "killed the leader" is a bit of a misnomer... should be "killed a leader"

If when the leader or A leader is dead.. a new one will take over... along with the followers. So celebration is too soon to declare.

Getting rid of one is like winning a battle.. but the war still goes on.

it's a fluidic organization. killing this leader doesn't mean shit to me. Plenty of other leaders to replace him. same for osama bin laden. the only way to deliver a devastating blow to them is to be 3 steps ahead of them

Waste time to look for Bin Laden. Now capture or kill him. If get him, all US force return home. Save money for our taxpayers.

:werd:

Sad! :(

Actually number two Al Zawahari (forgot spelling) is the brains of the organization.

Not happen until Afghan become stable and able to defend themselves.

Afghan is very unstable country since 1970's during communist takeover and oust of monarchy, that leading Soviet to invade Afghan from 1979 until 1989 so Soviet government decided to withdraw all troopers and Afghan went under civil war for 7 years and communist repelled in 1992 so became Taliban rule in 1996 until 2001.

You can't withdraw all troopers after Bin Laden has captured or killed because there's many Al Qaeda leaders so troopers has focus to stabilize of Afghan, also in Pakistan too.

Afghan in before 1970's was great country with monarchy and women has more freedom in past but not anymore due stupid extreme Islamic influence, same with Iran in prior to 1979.

Taliban has destroyed alot of traditional Afghan culture, that's so sad.

Afghan schoolchildren in 1960's and some girls don't wear cover the head in past.

Interesting story about American families in Afghan in past.

Right, Foxrac. Obama said that forces will be withdrawn next June 2011. Not at all force will return home.

At least it is not Osama bin Laden

The hunt still goes on.

Exactly right

Al Qaeda have so many sleeper cells and thousands of agents and terrorists around the world. They can spring into any actions in a matter of seconds or minutes. They heavily depend on patience until at right time they strike at selected targets with expectations of massive causalities and vast amount of damages.

Remembber 9/11? It took several years for them to plan, design and execute the attack.

No

Whenever he or his deputies are dead, his lieutenants will take over them. It will go on until the Al Qaeda is finally defeated.

War is not the thing only that we depend on to defeat them. We must use all robust and active intelligence tools and activities to prevent them from attaching targets in U.S.

Ahman Al Zawahiri...is the spelling I think. Bin Laden was only a rich guy who threw money into Al Qaeda....and has become the icon face. Al Zawahiri an Egyptian doctor with the brains and radical push.

Actually number two Al Zawahari (forgot spelling) is the brains of the organization.
