Overthepond- This is what I thought as well...and with the CI evaluation how does it go in terms of the audiogram? Is it similar to a regular audiogram or no? I still get frustrated with even small group settings...group being like 2 people including myself if there are more than 2 ppl I am very confused like today i had noooooo idea what was going on lol cuz soo many people were talking. The phone no longer appeals to me much anymore either ...i get angry lol and end up making my friends or my mom call for me...
The audiogram is bog standard, at the start of assessments they would need to check the levels of hearing unaided then aided. Perhaps test with different HA's. They also test on BKB (sentences without lipreading) and CUNY test (sentences of unexpessive man with voice/lipreading, and without HA just lipreading, this shows how much we can hear with HA before going any further with assessments.
ABR/OTE/ scans comes afterwards.
This how my centre process, so yours may be different.
Group suitation, I still find it hard as before.
