The Artist.
The actor who played Peppy is adorable, the lead actor fun to watch, and that dog is marvellous. And I'm happy to see that other Deafs have seen and enjoyed it. True, it's a lot of fun to get up and go to a move that requires no headphones, captions, or worries about missed dialogue!
BUT am I the only person to feel like this is a hearing person's version of a silent film? The scene where the guy doesn't understand what the cop is saying completely confused me; he's hearing, isn't he? Oh, haha, a "silent film" actor doesn't use sound, haha. Same with the scene where the cup suddenly makes noise and the guy goes nuts in his dressing room. Uh huh. Sorry if I rained on anyone's parade.
I DO hope that more directors/producers decide to go make some more modern silent films; there is so much great untapped potential here! In the footsteps of Charlie Chaplin. So great that this film is getting so many awards, too.
