At the risk of getting PMS jokes from men here, I m asking any gals here who have been diagnosed with PMDD or know PMDD to help me out.

Most people don't realize how PMDD really affects lives of millions of women and how the society views them as lunatics or nags, especially by men.

I'm just looking for anyone who understand what I'm requesting for.

Forgive me , but what does PMDD means?..

i agree Angel -- im a bit confused on PMDD --

Actually, I've seen may kinds of PMS while growing up. The worse is women yelling at others and bitching them out. The least is women not changing. ;)

Meg,

I'm not diagnosed, but it's possible that I might have PMDD. I don't have many physical symptoms of PMS, but I always get really depressed right before my time of the month. Usually, two weeks before my cycle begins, I'll start to feel my mood crash. And, I get more and more depressed and irritable as the time gets nearer. It finally subsides when my new cycle begins, say, three or four days in.

I just live with it, but the older I get, the worse it seems to be getting. Before anybody says anything, I KNOW I should see my doctor, but blech! LOL So, yeah.... I will when I can no longer stand myself or those around me can't stand me, I'll do something about it. lol

But, I hear you...The constant moodiness is really difficult to live with!

i have the same trouble OceanBreeze  altho have not been formally diagnosed -- i recognized the symptoms that u had posted here and on the link that Vampy had posted

Thanks for the responses!

Sorry for not being more clear. It stands for Premenstrual Dysorphic Disorder. It is severe PMS........these who have PMDD usually gets very depressed, fatigued, absentminded, gain 5 to 10 lbs of water and gets bad cramps or headaches or painful breast swelling 7 to 10 days prior to period. For the past few years, I thought I was losing my mind and I was tired of people telling me to snap out of it because I had 2 different personalities. I would literally bite peoples heads off or get so depressed that I would not go out to socialize etc. Yet I am completely back to my old happy go lucky self once the cycle ends, only to go through it again next month.

Sounds like I'm not alone! That's good to know!! As previously stated, I'll probably ask my Dr about this one day. I know there's treatment available. It's just a matter of GOING to the Dr, and OPENING my mouth about what is going on with me, but, ***sigh*** LOL I guess no one likes to admit something like this, and WHO wants to see the GYN, anyway?!! Certainly not I!!! LOL

But, thanks for reaching out, Fly! It's nice to know that I'm not alone in my misery! :)

Since I got my tube tide after my 3rd child, my doctor warned me that I would have worse crabs than I ever felt before and it will only last for year or two depending on each woman, well when I had my period after the 6 weeks was over, I couldn't believe how painful the crabs were....I end up getting horrible headaches and even the crabs didn't last until 3rd day....I should never got my tube tide....

I usually get a bit cranky on the first day of my period, other than that I'm fine ....and the good thing came out of this is my period only last for 4 days....Thanks heaven

LOL@ Oceanbreeze

That's why I avoid taking my pap test every other year, I haven't gone for 5 years now....I hate it when I have to go see a GYN Doctor afterall who would want to do a job like that?..heh heh

My sister in law hates to do her pap test every year. She becomes sick and found out she has a cervis cancer because she did not have her pap test every year. She battled with chemotheraphy to cure the cancerous.

We need to do pap test every year to prevent to spread cancer in the cervis. and also the pevcis ultra sound to check on ovaries cancer every other two years and CA-125 blood test.

Do not wait that longer !! Remember, three children need their mother !

Yes, I would have to agree with Sabrina.. Pap test are very important. Never know something goes wrong.

Angel, I didnt know that if you get tubes tied, you will get worse cramps. No wonder I got so bad cramps since that ..that explains it.

Pap smears are IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it sucks going to the *pussydoctor* but a few minutes of discomfort is worth a peace of mind and good health!!!

I used to be a breast & cervical cancer educator/analyst so I often had to convince many women to go get pap smears and mammograms. But I keep emphasizing that a few mins of discomfort is NOTHING compared to months or even years of agony going through chemotherapy or even losing a breast or cervix.

 WORSE than typical cramps if tubes are tied qq shit i dont think i can endure another round of this shit! i have a history of VERY bad cramps (once that actually had me sent to the ER) with ahh very heavy periods (cant remmy what its called -- menorrhagia something like that qq) -- i had benign cysts in my right ovary (which has since been removed) and i only have one ovary working left *smh*

i still have to endure the big time mood swings associated with PMDD with all the symptoms listed *smh* -- it DOES seem to get worse as i get older grr
