Kittens left in video store drop box
Kittens left in video store drop box | KXAN.com

AUSTIN (KXAN) - When video store workers came into work a week ago, they were shocked to find not a copy of 101 Dalmations in the overnight drop box, but five little kittens.

The five kittens, now named Tarzan, Puss in Boots, Lion King, Bambi and Nemo, are in great condition - considering what they have been through. After finding them in the drop box, the employee dropped them off in another box - this time at Town Lake Animal Center.

From there, a worker at TLAC contacted the Austin Humane Society to let them know about the so-called "DisneyKittens."

They all have distinct personalities.

"I think we named them really well," said Frances Jonon, executive director of the Austin Humane Society. "Nemo's the little needy kitten in the bunch. Tarzan kind of speaks for itself, he's a little monster, he's jumping all over the place. Puss in Boots with the little boots on. The kitties are all very different and they are all incredibly affectionate. The wonderful thing about animals is despite what they've been through, they are still full of love."

See the kittens below as well as a very important message from Jonon about cats:

The kittens now have an upper-respiratory infection, which is perfectly treatable. They are doing well and looking forward to getting a new home. To find out if you can adopt these kittens, contact the Austin Humane Society at (512) 685-0120.

I am glad they all survived. And that is the wonderful thing about animals. They are capable of happiness and love, no matter how they have been treated.

Awww, I'm glad they're doing alright...whoever anaboned the kittens should be shot.

I want them! Alas, my house is full at the moment.

The person should have taken these kittens to a rescue so that they would be cared for until they are adopted.

Naaahh too much trouble... which is what they were probably thinking when they did it.

They also might have a grudge against that video store for a bad movie or bad rental and didn't get free one or whatever... and decided to drop them off hoping the kittens would crap, piss over all the tapes/dvds.

Who knows what idiots think when they do stuff like that.
