Keep Speeding!!

purrplecatty oh yea yea that was something cause everyone plm on driving! rme! and i complained about that way.. yea i agree with you.. oh well..

I started to drive slower than I usually do. :-< damn, i'm getting old.

Tell that to me :). I cant even go faster than 80 mph nowadays unless Im playing a racing simulator on my computer. I must be feeling that old too lol. Even worse is I bought a vehicle that is actually SLOWER than my last one.

What's more is I have been staying off the interstates and sticking to 2 lane highways. Guess my fear of being run over by a Freightliner at 70 mph finally caught up to me in my old age.

I don't mind speeding in tunnel, have done that many times. My wife hates that and got nervous. Especially when I darted into tunnel on Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel

Im used to tunnels because of where I grew up, they got plenty of tunnels and I gone though thousands of times and it is really nothing.

This is very true, I already tested and proved. I was able to achieve 23MPG on my gas guzzler jeep. That is when I drive around 45mph on the highway. Normally I get 16-18mpg on the highway and that is when I drive 60-65mph.

Also, on my Goldwing* (Motorcycle), I normally get 35mpg on the highway, and when I cruise around 45mph I was able to hit 50mpg.

research shows 45mph to be the best and most economical speed.

* I got 1200cc motor on my GW, even though 35mpg seems to be too low, however if you got 500cc, you may hit 60mpg. I won't give up for smaller engine, I love the heavier weight and it retains more controls for me.

Off topic...while speed may be exhilirating to some, the economic reality for most people in this economy is the slower you drive, the better gas mileage you get; just don't go too slow to be a danger to self and others.
