Hi Folks,
Just joined AD. I was born with hearing loss and wore aids all my life. Recently my loss has really gone down. I have lost all hearing in one ear and only hear the low end on the other. I feel lucky to have heard what I could with the aids, but know I must face the future. Cochlea implants are not a possiblility and am looking into auditory brain stem implant. I just turned 50 last Nov and was laid off last Dec from an engineering management position. I'm also giving chiropactice a try too hoping it might help regenerate some of the nerves in the cochlea.
My heart goes out to all of you and admire your strength to move on with life.
