Everybody here knows I am not a feminist. I am not sure what you mean about "passive possessive" and to me, it sounds like another "made up" condition to make people feel superior about themselves and their intellect.

(edit: by "feminist" I am referring to the push to have more rights than men, not equal rights - if you want to be a combat soldier, the physical requirements should not be lowered just because of your gender).

Excuse me, but what are you talking about? How did this conversation go from talking about a news article to how I "treat deaf guys" and how I should go to sports bars instead of fancy restaurants? Are you implying that deaf guys are too cheap to treat their girlfriends and wives to fancy restaurants? Are you the elected spokesperson for all of the deaf guys?

Please explain that huge leap. We don't know each other and you don't know how I treat deaf people. In fact, my father is completely deaf, so is my wife and I am severely HoH and use ASL at home.

So whatever bee crawled up your posterior, to me, it sounds like it is your problem, not mine.

Same here, but oh well, I ignore Stein all time after had problem with him.

Also, some members don't know how to use quote properly.

no I would say all of that is about even. Absent father OR mother is a huge problem anywhere- hearing, deaf, black, white. Yes it seems to be bigger in the black community because the media likes to focus on it more. BUT that doesn't mean that the child always suffers. Growing up with a single parent isn't the horror people make it out to be. I've known several women who raised their kids as a single mom at one time or another. Most were good and raised their kids right. Some were/are not great parents at all- turns out at least in one case the non-custodial parent was the better parent!

You haven't been around much have you? As much as Stein drives me nuts many times, that isn't the reason why- simply because he has never come off the way you describe him.
