I understand that some companies sell our addresses as well as e-mail addresses to other companies. I understand that it is our responsibility to report them to stop doing that, but what gives them the right to do something like that? I feel it is a violation of one's privacy. It makes me irritated that something like this is allowed, but they make up a bunch of stupid rules to keep this happening. What ammendments or law makes this kind of activity legal?
Many of these companies are not responsible. It makes me irritated that they do things to cheat you and difficult for you to keep them from selling your privacy without your knowledge or making them in small prints or not saying anything at all that they participate in such activities.
The companies don't realize that it takes an extreme amount of energy trying to call these companies to get you off these lists. What people some people may not find out is that you can tell them to get you off their list, but they can still sell your privacy information. There was one company online who asked for e-mail to confirm removing you from their list, then they stated afterwards that you need to e-mail them to get your e-mail off their list. Of course, in small prints. Of course, I put an old e-mail of mine knowing their tricks. Some companies ask you for your e-mails and addresses first, then ask you in boxes if you want them to contact you. I did this once and checked "NO" but they still violate that. It's such a pain in the butt. It's never worth giving out e-mails, cell phones, addresses to anything that they have no business knowing. A lot of stores ask you for your zip codes, and I have stopped giving that. They just ask you without telling you why. I don't want their garbage, and I don't have time to read every garbage nor take all my time removing me off their lists.
Doctor's offices ask you what your occupation is. I leave that empty because they have no business knowing that. They never ask me to provide such things.
