Start slow. If there are any exercises you can do at home before hitting gym, you will be better prepared for gym.

How long has it been since you worked out? I exercise 5 days a week and eat non-processed food, it helps me. I would alternate running (on the days you can run) with bike and tread mill where you can hold on. Also, use the nautilus as it is safer than weights if you are going through really bad bouts. Get into it slowly and let your body heal.

And, stay away from high sodium foods.

Its been 10 years since i ran i work out almost everyday at home pilates i never was a gym person i do alot of workouts.. at home i miss running.. so i will start slow i eat right im trying to get salt out of my diet as well as sugar i need to loss abot 40 pounds and keep it off to get my myasthenia gravis under control..and keep up with the kids...

Maybe talk to your doctor about a safe regimen to undertake???

If you are working out everyday, the problem is not your routine (most likely, although you could be overdoing it). You don't have to give up running, but safety first(don't put yourself in a dangerous position). I'm leaning more towards the diet. Are you eating high sodium chips, noodles, and other processed food? Have you changed the diet recently?

Check out the Eating for Life cookbook you can do 40 lbs in six months, without the shakes.

I think you will like the gym.

I agree that starting with walking on the treadmill first, for half hour. If you feel great stick with it for a month then you will test to see if you can run again. If you continue to walk a little speed up like 3 times a week. if you do not get dizzy then increase of walking speed fast.

hope dizzy go away!

You should probably take a nap for a couple of hours when you get dizzy because your body needs the rest. I've found that sleep helps.

Dramamine just made me more dizzy and nyquil would cause a lot of dizziness for me. I don't do medicine anymore.

well those im pretty sure have alcohol so they will make you dizzy...and right i should take a nap if i can.. right my myasthenia gravis reacts to fatigability as well. so getting rest for me is very imperative ...

In my case, alcohol does not make me feel dizzy as I drink wine, beer and some mixed drinks. However, I'm sure there are some mixed drinks that would do it.

You have to find out what works for you, but also know that alcohol will not help with weight loss.

make sure you are well hydrated with electrolites and stop at a regular interval to take a quick break and drink.
Start out walking and increase only if you feel you can.

What about mixing it up a bit, use the elliptical machine or (my favourite) the CardioWave?
Definitely start out slow with that treadmill!

There is another type of exercise and won't get "dizzy"-swimming. Only problem-near a pool?

I've never gotten dizzy swimming, but I would stay close to the side of the pool so I could hold on if it does happen.

Well I plan to go today I will bring lots of water,it rainny out now will see how gose.will start out slow.

did not go today to nasty outside oh well..maybe next time i did do some dance in the house lol im not sure...if i can lose much with that ..i was tired after i finshed..

Are you drinking water before you exercise? Our bodies need to be hydrated. If you don't drink water (or fluids) regularly, your body can get easily dehydrated during exercise. That's why it's important to drink plenty of fluids (recommended 8 glasses of water a day).

It could also be that you're overdoing it? If you don't exercise regularly, then forcing your body to do too much can put a lot of stress on your body. You should start small. If have no problem running, then try starting with one mile... then add a half mile (or quarter mile) every few days or every week.
