Hey there

I've really wanted a job in military or security work. My deafness stopped me from getting in the army and Royal Navy and marines, etc. I'm currently looking into private security.

Does anyone know whether my deafness will stop me from this line of work? What other kind of jobs, like these ones, that involve a level of danger and physical work can I do? Does anyone here work in anything like these careers?

Thanks for reading.

Are you from UK?

If so, I don't know about their law, however it is possible to become a law enforcement officer (police officer) or private security.

In USA, it is all possible because we do have few deaf people in police career and speaking about private security, it is up to private companies.

You can work as civilian in military career.

My advice would be to take college computer security courses. Cyber crime is the biggest thing around these days and chances are you will work for a private company contracted by the military, if that exist in the UK. Look for private labs that do military work and see what education you need.
