Jiro,

why it is not okay to text or call friend without asking if I can have her number? It is not good to get number from yahoo people or elsewhere phonebook from facebook or else.

Do you like it if somebody came to your house without asking you for address but they found it from facebook or phonebook?

it's usually for friends who already have their permission to call/txt them. Sometimes they lost cellphone so easier to find phone number from yahoo.

or sometimes they are not smart with computer and they didn't know their phone number is public in their yahoo.

But it doesn't matter. If you never asked for their phone number, then you should never call them without their permission. Get the permission first then you can txt them.
 
I don't know if Ivy League would approve this practice anyhow.
