because the term "whore" means to compromise oneself for financial, political, or other gain.

in the case of post whores, they compromise their credibility as useful members of an online community for the gain of having a higher amount of posts than everyone elese within the group. Somehow they make an illogical correlation between the number of posts they have made and a sense of 'authority' within the group. In real life, this just amounts to the know-it-all that never shuts up.
