It has begun !

WOW Mike, so impressed. We still have not finished our kitchen remodel which started a couple years ago. Next step is having all the cabinets refinished. Hoping to get it done in September. We shall see........

All that's left is grout n seal, trim and Pantry/fridge surround.

Running dedicated power to microwave later, just finished installing the cracked glass in the cabinet over the sink.. fun fun.

whats dedicated power is it American term ?

Dedicated power means, its a line all its own, like for a fridge so nothing causes an overload and trip the ciruit.

lets say the fridge draws 15 amps and a microwave draws 15 amps ( 30 amps combined)

Now you are away from home and the fan is running, then the fridge kicks on, drawing 30 amps on a 15 or 20 amp outlet.... now you come home to spoiled food since the circuit tripped.

Microwaves do the same thing with the high draw.... so nothing else can be on those lines.

I did not know this , I do have a microwaves and only have a toaster
plugged into the same outlet . So I guess that it OK .

My microwave is not on its own circuit but it is a matter of what is on at the same time. I can only remember once when enough things with a high draw were on at once to trip the breaker. I have used that setup for over 20 years.

at the house I sold, I tapped into the wall outlet for the microwave since I didnt run a line. on its own, if you had the toaster on and tried to microwave something it tripped every time with a 20 amp breaker. So had to plug the toaster in elsewhere.... here at my parents I added additional outlets as there were only 2 in the kitchen, now they have GFCI around the sink, with 3 additional on the counter area, as well as the 2 others ( fridge and another wall outlet on the other side of the room.

The GFCI are on a line, the 3 additionals are on their own line , so if anything trips, there has to be some major draw on those lines... I look at safety first...

I have small kitchen and not a lot of counter space , I will only use one item at a time in the future . I did have to have some work done on my circuit breaker when I first moved here, the light in my bedroom kept flickering . I guess the woman that own the condo before me ran a cord from another room to plug in a lamp in the bedroom . If I ever look for a new place again I will check all the lights to see how they work .

The size of the kitchen is not the issue. Even a small kitchen can have outlets that are on different circuits. That is the part to check before plugging in several things that all draw a lot of current and intending to use several of them at the same time.

Well, building a slide out spice rack to fill the gap next to the fridge
