Is it very frustrating to try to sign with someone when you're fluent and they aren't

Jiro, in S. Ga, there was an island called Gullah. Stranded slaves, escaped or born there, they spoke Gullah. Island culture is still there, and Gullah is a dying language. It was a mixture of African languages is what we were taught about it in the old days.

I hope this is what you were thinking of.

YES!!! Gullah! :ty:

It is frustrating to me to sign with somebody who is not very good signing if I have been signing with same person for years and years while that person never learns, always ask me to fingerspell or speak outloud.

Dictionaries are edited yearly to include new words. English is not a dead language. It's evolving all of the time. Even "truthiness" is in the dictionary now. :cool2:
