is it fair to call blacks "african americans"?

Well....

Sounds like you have quite things going on about Black and African American. While my mission in New York City, I had a partner who worked with me on the mission field. She was from Chicago and "coda". Also she was 'black'. (dont attack me how I describe, that s the best thing I could do!) So...I asked her what she like to be called, Black or African American. She said Black. She said it is solid and true.

Like she said, it is solid and true.

However, I am latina but I may be 'mulatto', I am not sure if I like that term. SOunds like I am a mutt with no home. hee hee. Anyway back to the point...

I was born adopted to a white family. I have often wondered where do I come from. I occasionally asked my adopted parents where did my parents come from. All they said, that my adopted father met my birth mother which he was an obgyn doctor. And he learned that there was no father. It was only one night stand. So basically, I have no clue where my birth father come from. It made hard for me and was disappointed that I couldn't find who I was.

Later, I learned to accept who I am. I just love being me. I love being latina with no latin culture. I am basically white. I really don't care where I come from. It is matter to me how my life is molded by my adopted mother and father. I am grateful that my adopted parents raised me like I am their birth daughter.

Every single day, I told myself, "it is amazing that how blessed I am to be in this family with love."

I just love being me! So it is solid and true.
bewitched.. i am sorry to hear your side of story.. You know what?? you are not only who lost biogolocal father.. I don't know who is my bio-father.. My biogical mother refused to tell me where is my father or name or whatever i wantto know who is he..

I noticed that Most black women carrying the childerns have NNONE FATHER FIGURE... sad.. that black's tradtional that black peopkle have fatherless... that why I dont want to be part from them.. my childern pleasure look at me they aware that I am still with them their father .. I know them need me as role male in their life depend on me as always.. smile..

Well Said.
That's a wonderful story about Adoption
You're quite blessed with the family adopted with love
That's why I'm for Adoption and I'm against Abortion :thumb:

The men in my family are strong figure...
they are the ones keep the family together.

They learned from their Dad...
who was a very very dark skinned black man...
and he was never scared of White people or KKK members...
White people were scared of him.

And he was the one who made strict rules
to all of my GrandUncles....
And they learned to be responsible.

And so my GrandUncles teach their sons to be
like that, and raised them right.

You are right, the Black women rather raised children
fatherless... but the Men in my family won't allow that.

So Black Men today need to learn to stand up to
Black women... and don't try to control them, just
be there for the Black women, let the Black women
control the household and Black men just need to work
and bring home the milk money.

Heh....I am not sorry that I didn't know who my father was. I am glad that my adopted father is even more than I asked. He is a wonderful man. I couldn't ask for more! Honestly with you, I am not regretting that I didn't know my real father was. I dont even really think about him because I just know that my adopted father is just like my 'real' father. My adopted parents are the greatest gift of all that God has provided for me. It is the best.

I m sorry that your mother didn't tell you who your father was. I m glad that you are taking up your role as a father and will not be like your father. Your children will be lucky to have you. :)

Thanks.

Hey wait a min, Are you saying that " I am Mulatto " after I read your post, It's totally confused me. But you said that " I am latina ".. you try to saying that my son is latin or mulatto? I refused to make him being 'A LATIN' associate with spanish or hispanic people.. My Son and I don't have surmname of spanish or family and speaking of spanish anywhere in south america or spanish country.. because I never heard any latin or spanic of people who claim as their ethic as "Mulatto". Most Black or white people called spanish or latin people which term Gypsy.. Of course Most spanish people prefer using term "Hispanic" is that odd?? If you are so called black and spanish as mixed blood and race, You are Gypsy or Moor which is mixed of [Asian i.e.] Hebrew or Arab or Spanish and african..

So I perfer using term: Mulatto on my son, He is son of so called white and so called black descent.

Main Entry: mu·lat·to
Pronunciation: m&-'la-(")tO, mu-, myu-, -'lä-
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural -toes or -tos
1 : the first-generation offspring of a black person and a white person
2 : a person of mixed white and black ancestry

CK....

I am unaware of my ethicity. Because some people think that Im black. You need to read my phrase again... I may be 'mulatto' ....meaning I was assuming or saying it. I dont label myself truly muatto. I m just stating it. So end of discussion. :)

In UK, they label them -

coffee-colored children, Half-caste children and Wog children.

In Australia, they call the Greek and Italian people as a Wog people!!

Wog is short word from the Golliwog.

I have African-Negro step-mother, and Full-blood black Maori New Zealander Uncle.

It's just the color of the skin, I love everyone! :)

Where did you get your definition of a Gypsy? The only definition I've ever found is along these lines: A member of a nomadic people originating in northern India and now living on all continents

Ethereal, I said that most white or black people had seen hispanic included arab or india refugeed in their pre-doimnant white or black communites. they make them label as catogtry (sp) of gypsy period. Since old saying said like that.. nothing changes...

Did you know that india and arabian of eople sold Inida of indo-arabs and indo-indians people as slaves and some moved to south america from inda and arabian before european moved up on shore of north america.. anyway indo-arabs and indinans had been mixed with south american of people.. they who tried to refugee here in U.S.A., white people saw them as categotry of gypsy.. then black seen them as well black say samething as white said.. what the more , Gremany said samething.. see nothing change term itself..

if you not get that.. I just suggest you read history of book from library... Thank you for ask for that... enjoy stay!!

Those are my nieces and my nephew. The picture on the right is of my nephew (Taro) and older niece (Anwyn) kissing their new sister (Alaurial). The picture on the right is of Alaurial now.

Oops, I made a little typo. The first sentence is supposed to say the picture on the left. There aren't two right pictures. Sorry about that.

And thank you, I think they're adorable too.

Geez, Black people have been here in USA for 300 years and I don't
understand why White people act like we are strange.

Why they asked so many question about us like that?
