I was contacted by Joey Jeff from Deaf Lotto.. He said that its legal and I won 2 million dollars. I told him that I would contact my attorney general to make sure it's legal and he just got mad at me. I don't want to fall for scammers. Here is website Deaf Lottery Official Website and I just don't want to be victim of scammer.

Yes, it is just a scam.

There is no such Lotto for deaf people. It's all scams.

I say don't waste your time, but if you feel like entertaining the guy or messing around with him then go for it.

Seems to be written with a low level of english. Something seriously professional where you earned 2 million, would not be written like that. It would have to be written very differently with terms and conditions MUCH longer!

From the look of it, it is a similar to pyramid scheme.

I suppose you got contacted by the individual through AIM/YIM?

I would advise you to disregard it.

I had funny feeling and that guy admitted to me that I am smart so I knew it! I removed him from Facebook friend list because I am not interested in scammers.

Do you remember his facebook link?

is this him? Deaf Hoh Lotto | Facebook

If it is, I will report him/her for you on facebook to have him investigated, in order to help prevent him from causing more damage to other people on there who might fall for his scheme.

Be careful when you get IM from anyone on your AIM list. A hacker targeting AIM screenname to say you won $25,000 and etc. Hacker is stealing your AIM password and taking over your aim screenname to hack someone in your buddylist.

It happened to 4 or 5 friends on my buddy list got stolen and tried to do on mine but failed. They steal password thru virus or spyware as well as a loop in firewall.

You would get a IM from a hacker or scammer they are known to say like this:

Hacker: Hello
Me: Hi
Hacker: How are you?
Me: fine and you?
Hacker: You have won $25,000 and I am police officer.

Since I am on laptop, I have the log in my mac at home... this is similarity that has tried to hit on me few times. They steal password once you reply to that person. They only thing you can do is put on block and change password IMMEDIATELY!.

It seems that Hacker/Scammer are targeting AIM these days.

i have agree with posts but its scammers!! and also fraud im approve it believe me

Urghh scammers are losers with nothing better to do

That deaf lottery person added you in the facebook, just to pull on your leg, also that person is accessing to your friend list, and add them just to pull their legs. Why would they do that? They are pissing me off.

Care to PM or post the link of the website you use to extract information on websites via Whois?

Yes, its a scam and dont give specific information otherwise your screen name gonna get hacked just like it happened to my buddy, he rocked his screen name like its his awesome sn, somehow, he fell something for it. He sure is upset cause he thought he lose that screen name for good and forever but I helped him and took his screen name back. That scammer got pissed off, lol. Owelp, just be careful, buddies ;]

Yes Deaf Lottery is a scam. If you didn't enter in any lottery by that name, then you didn't win. Plain and simple. Like they say, you can't win if you don't enter.

It can be fun messing with the scammers thou. I got contacted by one through AIM the other day. His syntax was all very scammery (like one of those Nigrian e-mails) I was all " Really? I am an FBI agent and I have sent agents to your house to arrest you." He signed off :)

I hate it when people try to scam the deaf community. To me that's a real low.

One time I had some dude show up at a supermarket where I once worked (thanks for laying me off ya jerks! *shakes fist!*). He had one of those little cards that says he's deaf and looking for a hand out (cash preferably). I started signing to him and he couldn't reply back because, as it was very obvious that he's not deaf. I got a hold of security and they hauled his sorry ass out the door.

Yiz

Yea, sometime on AIM or YIM.. when the DeafLotto or Money Prizes messaged me.

I gets the message that says "You've won on deaflotto".. I replied back to them "Warning! Your messages, IP has been captured and forwarded to the FBI cybercrime specialist" then he or she logged off from the IM services. I guess deaflotto scared of tracing the IP to be busted lol.
