Over the years, as America is more than 250 years old, there were many problems back then and more problems as of now, whether violence would solve the problems nor non-violence would solve the problems.

As America was born into a new nation of the world, there were flood-spread problems over race and slavary, which many say that slavary is good for crops and the ecomony, while others say that slavary is evil and is used by lazy wealthy pigs. Every person with different skin color are quickly judged without even knowing them, always jumping to conslutions, thought to kill them in fear of them taking over the world or whatever like that.

During the 18th and 19th century, unmarried women were quickly judged when they have babies without having to get married first, were killed when hung or shot or disowned, believed to be breaking the laws of the bible or whatever like that...even kill the babies because they feel they aren't right to be bought into the world because the mother isn't even married.

After Slavary was destoryed, more problems grew bigger and bigger. Blacks were given no rights when they are in public places, such as restuants, buses, theatres, restrooms, chruches, and even hospitals. Whites were still in fear of blacks "taking over the world." There were many riots when blacks and whites fight into bloody, gory, pointless deathmatchs. many were quickly judged, beaten, killed and even disowned when they are in interacial relationships. It happens rarely with other people of the different races, but it seems blacks were the most hatred of the nation...and so were the whites.

During the 1950s through the 1970s, people at age 18 were allowed to drink and smoke, and it was too much because many schools weren't drug-free zones back then...many were drunken so quickly they get mad easily and become violent...most were killed in car whecks due to drinking..and many were beaten/raped when they were drunk or high. Stress has increased in many people when Kennedy was President and supporting the rights for the blacks, and letting America go to war (Vitenam War) and Kennedy was shot in the head from people who dont understand love, peace, and freedom.
Same thing with Martin Luther King, Jr who was assassignated from a man who has completely ignored the importance of peace and human life.

Today, we do still have many problems, as similar to these of the past.
many restuants like Califorina and Chicago has banned smoking, and many customers were complaining and decided to boycott the foods there.
Many parents complained that videogames that contains violence in it brainwashes the children, making them go violent and go on a shooting spree at a school or whatever like that. Women who are mothers and wives complained that guns should be banned in America, while others, including gun lovers, cops, and even the government, say that guns are used for protection.
Ever since 1990, the Middle Eastern countries, including Iraqi, Afganishan, and Tabian threatened America and allied forces into war and after 9/11th, the entire world has changed...you can't trust anyone.

Right now we are into war ever since...

But, the question is, is America the MOST violent nation of the whole world? I don't really think so.

look at other countries! including China, Afhangastian, etc

In China, the chinese government passed many unfair laws to their own citizens, telling them that they are only allowed to have one or two children in each family. No putting out socks in public. no throwing litters like cigarittes and bottles on the ground, or you would be wiped by a cop painfully without talking it out like gentlemen. Women who gives birth to female babies, were judged unfairly, forcing them to kill themselves because males are believed to be highly powered and respected in China. There are more males in China than females.

In Afhangastian, similar to China, but not entirely...males are also believed to be highly powered and respectful, always telling women what to do all the time. Yelling and screaming at them all the time, hitting them, beating them and sometimes even kill them when they had enough. Many don't handle their anger very well. some men who don't grow a beard, immediately go to jail.
Jews who goes there, even visit there, immediately get wiped to death due to jealousy of the Jews and their taking over the land that happened thousands of years ago and is still happening. They don't even care if it's an innocent child.

So, I'm telling you this because I have read some books at college about violence, such as school shootings and others stuff like that in America...is saying that America is the most violent country...and I don't really believe that.

So what do you think?

well... in my own mind.. I believe that american aren't most violent place in world.. i believe that there's other countries are most violent.. for example some countries have no government.. which there's no law.. they can kill.. steal.. and try to gain power.. mostly africans have no government..

there are other countries are more strict.. FRANCE! amen to FRANCE! most americans hate france.. since france don't accept americans visitors which is sad.. some france peeps beat american tourist.. cuz they are against americans on war in iraq..

America will always be violent. Every country in the world is violent in some way.

:dunno: I dont see your point in this "essay" You haven't proven your purpose of this thread-

is america the most violent country... most of your arguments (points) does not prove that its violent or not violent...

for example... how can chicago and california's ban on smoking in resturant be related to violence? Then you say no America aint the most violent but then you havent yet proven that other countries are intensely more violent? You mentioned about no putting out socks in public or throwing litter on the ground as your reasoning about why other countries are violent?

I see what you are getting at, Steel - and a noble effort on writing a thoughtful essay! I am impressed, knowing the regular posts you have made in the past. :thumb: Keep it up.

As for USA being the most violent nation in the world... I don't know about that either! There are many unknown factors to me. Yes, other countries' citizens do practice violence. Killing each other because of an ancient grievance and self-defeating beliefs. That's the middle east, I reckon, along with some pretty good hearted natives there. Let's not forget to not lump the good and kindhearted people who also are Iraqi, Jewish, Iranian, American, French, Canadian, deaf, hearing alien you name it together with the rotten seeds that make us all look bad to each other.

To expand on the violent problems: I personally feel that the problems plaguing the world today are something INNER. Something that comes from the within.

1. The indifference and inactivity of many global citizens,
2. Displaced anger of those who don't know how to deal with situations,
3. Misplaced blame and it is truly easy to make anyone or any country a scrapegoat.

Displaced anger is dangerous when coupled up with misplaced blame.

It is also very easy to get caught up in the sweaty and frantic throes of just going along with the majority just because you would feel like a freak or left out. Rejection and abandonment are common fears.

After all, it starts with you. Buddha has an answer to world peace - create your inner peace first. Build strong character for yourself by learning about yourself and others. Learn. Follow your heart, and allow it to open up. The internet is your tool to new worlds - take advantage of it! Don't just chat and moan online! Stop talking and start learning. Amazing things will happen.

What has worked in the past doesn't work anymore today. :D

This is all IMO. Take with a grain of salt, too.

The part, you are right, Steel. The straight violent everybody in the world who don't believe in god and jesus that make me so sad. 1900s to present is one of worst violent of all the time.

*Shaking my head*

Steel, you are dead wrong about America.

The world is full of violence and dangers, period.

interesting essay u wrote Steel -- but i would personally disagree cuz i think EVERY country all around the world have their own violent histories from the birth of their nation to present day

KingCobra, try to read the whole post before making a response.

All of the countries in the world has experienced violence, and Canada is no exception.

China, Japan, England, France, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Yugoslavia, India, and many other countries.

They all experienced it and still is.

India, it has a high murder rate due to the density in the population. It is about double the murder rate in the USA. But density is not to be blamed because there are a lot of different logical reasons on this.

In Japan, the gun violence is quite low compared to the USA, but they have different methods of murdering a person. Knife, a very popular method over there.

Ireland, now that is a place known for strong violence. The war between the Catholics and Protestants. But it is more complicated than that since the government was religion-based which caused a lot of problems. For example, if a man lose a wife due to a disease, will he be able to keep the children?

It's more likely that these children will be taken away to a Catholic boarding school or something like that. These kind of situations indicate violence because they goes against other people's beliefs.

My point is, the world is a violent-filled place. Some countries are safer, some are more unsafe.

I did.

I simply made a direct and blunt point rather than discussing on this question.

The topic simply referred to America only; therefore, I think it is unfairly and directly pointed at America.

Look at Israel, Canada, Northern Ireland and so on...

Yes I agree with you, KingCobra- I tried to bring that point up that Steel used weak arguments on this point of view.

It was made in the form of a question, therefore I saw nothing wrong with it because I felt that tact was used in the question.

People shouldn't jump to conclusions.

There it is, that's the problem. You chose to resort to make a blunt response rather than "DISCUSSING" on this question.

That's the problem, you failed to "discuss" the question.

I dont think America is the only MOST violent nation of the whole world..and I dont think Steel was pointing fingers at America only.. he just asking a question do u think american is the most violent nation of the world... that was his question... i dont see him pointing fingers at America....

DUH!

I did not fail to discuss this question. I simply chose NOT to discuss it because I had to make it clear and blunt that the world, not only America is full of violence and dangers. Nothing more to say.

I can vigrously and articulately discuss this question into greater details; however, I simply chose not to do it. I think the question of this topic is invalid for three reasons: We CANNOT exactly measure and tell how violent and dangerous specific countries are; 2) Like I said before, the world is full of violence and danger 3) Again, I think it is still not fair to single out America as the most violent country in FORM OF HYPOETHICAL QUESTION which can and will lead people deceptively assume that America is the most violent nation in world.

If a person choose to take the hypo-ethical question as a fact, then that person is stupid.

It is that person's problem for making a bad choice, not Steel's.

Among popular beliefs, there are countries that view America as the world's most violent nation, and therefore somebody has to argue against that view.

It take guts to argue against other countries' views. There are countries that are far more violent than USA, no doubt about it.

But no country are safe from violence, and I don't think Steel would dare to deny the fact. Heck, Steel never implied that only a few countries had violence. I am sure that he is aware of that.

Steel is an American, and he has the right to defend his country in any ways possible which is what he did.

Thank you Banjo, for clearing this out on me abit.

Yes I am an American and I do love my country with all my heart and soul, but sometimes I don't like living here because of the US government, the many situations of skin colors, language, and reglions, etc...but of course, America is never perfect, but it seems many other americans always take everything as a big deal like when they see a black man going out with a white girl and some try to toture the black man not to go out with her and others would rape the white girl for going out with the black man and teach her a lesson...etc violence never really slove anything, and I'm sure many of you know that. So I know America isn't the only country that has the most violence because other countries do have awhole lot of problems than we do.

Listen to the news often, read history books, and do research on the interent or whatever like that.

I am NOT pointing any figures at America, the one and only voilent nation, which is not true. It was just my question, because I have read books about violence at the college, and I just simply asked for your honesty opinon about violence in America, and even the rest of the other countries.

So just chill out and re-read my post MUCH more carefully before you embrassass yourself.

The only point of my essay is that I'm asking all members what they think about America...is it the most violent nation of the world? that's all I ask. Thanks for your time and patience.

I understand where you are heading at Steel....

Very good essay you wrote there....U got an A Plus from me... :D

No, I don't believe that America is the most violent nation....I do believe that there are much violence in other countries as well....some which is noticeable at this time while other countries have little violence or simply nuetral....It's sad to see violence in this world is a part of everyday life :(

I believe that America is not violent as Iraq and Africa. That is why we have troops over there. :thumb:
