Biden should stick to what he is a master at: making farting noises and blowing snot bubbles....

So, you want police, firefighters, and teachers to be out of work?

Either you are for police, firefighters, and teachers or you are against them. You decide.

 I dont want to be out of a job!

if the USA goes broke, there will be massive unemployment, no matter what the occupation...

If I lose my job, then I can always sell lemonade on the streets!

So according to your logic, he doesn't want us to go bankrupt, ergo he wants policemen, firefighters, and teachers to lose their jobs.

Isn't the simpler explanation that he believes all this spending is harmful and will cause much more pain than the few jobs it directly saves? After all, that money has to come from somewhere- higher taxes, borrowing (which pushes up interest rates), or printing money (which inflates the dollar). It's easy to say "Look at these teachers whose jobs were saved directly by my stimulus bill." It's a lot harder to say "Look at these jobs that were not created because the company went into survival mode in anticipation of inflation and high taxes."

at the way things are looking in the USA, no one will have that nickle to pay for it...

Not even a penny?

On a serious note..this country will survive..we have always did even if it means starting from scratch again.

What does Biden's speech have to do with police, firefighters, and teachers losing their jobs?

oh yes we will survive. dealing with the crisis is a major pain in the ass.

there are so many people finanially hurt right now it is sickening.

in my private development there many unemployeed. some of those have already turned to breaking into homes. the state police are innvestigating an avereage of 10 robberies per week in my development alone. there are even more in the surrounding area. that is outrageous. what makes me even more angry is, i know one of the ring leaders. he lives on the street behind me and his accomplices are 4 of his 14 year old daughter's male "gangsta" friends...

I have seen the numbers of armed robbery and break-ins increase in my area. Even today, when I went to the store, a man stopped me at the parking lot asking me for $5 and he didnt loook homeless. Back then, people who begged for money looked like they seriously had hard lives on the streets. Now, there are decent, clean-looking people begging for money. *smh*

yeah, very hard times. just think of what will happen if things get as bad as the great depression. :ugh:

hope things start turning around soon

We got too much police as it is. Most of them do nothing but collect revenue for city by giving out traffic tickets.

Biden's known for being a straight shooter, but he missed the mark on this one.

Remember, an expiration date comes with everything Obama says (ergo The White House Administration). From the White House briefing room with a New White House spin: Stimulus not designed to … stimulate! A laughable moment and a lesson when it comes to Obama's expiration date.

Turns out the $787 billion “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” (AARA) was not designed for full economic recovery, but rather to “stabilize” the downturn. That’s the word from White House officials today, who held off-camera briefings with reporters on how the AARA is working so far.

“This legislation was designed to cushion the downturn,” said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. “That’s why we have always talked about this as one function of economic recovery.”

When pressed about the change in terminology, Gibbs said he was not trying to temper expectations after the fact. “I can probably find 15 or 20 occasions when I said this in the lead up,” Gibbs said, explaining that he had always defined the AARA as part of a “multi-legged stool.”
Should They Have Called It The 'Stabilization' Act? - Political Punch

And compare that to what he (ergo The White House Administration) said in January:
That is why I have moved quickly to work with my economic team and leaders of both parties on an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan that will immediately jumpstart job creation and long-term growth. …

There is no doubt that the cost of this plan will be considerable. It will certainly add to the budget deficit in the short-term. But equally certain are the consequences of doing too little or nothing at all, for that will lead to an even greater deficit of jobs, incomes, and confidence in our economy. It is true that we cannot depend on government alone to create jobs or long-term growth, but at this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe.

OMG! he is such a brilliant genius!

Let's SPEND instead of SAVE to keep us from bankrupt...instead we will be completely BROKE!

Damn! why didn't we think of that! *bonk my head*

....right.

Don't get me wrong...Biden seems to be a pretty good vice president so far, but...as everglade85 said, he missed his mark on this one.

Biden has been a straight shooter since childhood
