I'm guessing there's a snowball's chance in hell anybody here can help me but I'm gonna try! Maybe Christmas miracles really do exist! lol

So, I'm going to Ireland from Dec 27-Jan 7th.. I'll pretty much stay in the Dublin, Galway, Cork, Kilkenny, etc area. Any fun Deaf events happening in those areas? I've been keeping an eye on Irish Deaf.com and DeafHear.ie as well as others, but there isn't anything. :dunno2:

Asking out of curiosity...how will you plan to communicate with them, since I doubt most of them use Esl/ ASL...lol.

Ive learned basic Irish sign language like numbers, alphabet, conversational phrases etc but mostly through rudimentary gestures and international sign, which I'm not good at though but can figure it out ;)

I know two ADers live in Ireland. Hopefully they read this post. :D

Ireland is awesome, I have been to Cork/Crosshaven. I do know few deaf who lives in Dublin, Ireland. But most of my Irish friends are from Northern Ireland. Have good time. Currently northern Ireland is having alot of snow. I would check for availablity on flights as some flights had been cancelled.

Deaflad, Stefan2832 are from Ireland, but problem is they are not active users at this moment. :\

We used to have another member from Ireland...partygirl?

Anyways, have fun there! If you dont mind, take pics and post them here. I love looking at pics of ADers' travels. :)

I could have swore they had their own language. Hmmm. Now I need to go to Ireland and find out.

They use mainly BSL. A lot of my class mates are from Ireland, they used BSL/SSE when the teachers weren't looking!!

I'll ask my friend who I knew since we were 2, what Sign Language they use in Ireland. She moved to Dublin recently.

Lucky bitch. My SO knows basic BSL alphabets. Within five years from now, it's his turn to purchase a ticket trip to Ireland for St. Patrick's Day event. My parents were there in Dublin for a week few years ago. Colorful buildings/flats and greeny hills, cliffs, and some ancient ruins.
